Abstract: An electronic device case (10) for storing and protecting a portable electronic device (108). The case (10) has two design configurations. The first configuration comprises a device cover (12) with a first section (14) and a second section (30). The two sections (12,14) interface at a living hinge (46). The electronic device (108) is placed within the first section (14), which can be folded onto the second section (30) during travel or storage. The second configuration comprises a single, unitary device cover (70) into which the electronic device (108) is placed. Both configurations include a keyboard (110) that is located within a keyboard cavity (52 or 88), a first pocket (54 or 90) that holds a USB cable (112) for interfacing the keyboard to the electronic device, and a second pocket (56 or 92) that holds a power cable (114) for supplying power to the electronic device.
Abstract: A portable air conditioning unit (10) that is designed to produce cooled air without the need for a cooling refrigerant. The unit (10) includes an enclosure (12) that houses an air duct (40) having an air input port (42) attached to a fan (48) that is powered by a rechargeable battery pack (34), and an air exhaust vent (36) that protrudes through an air exhaust opening located on a first panel (24) located on the enclosure (12). The air exhaust vent (36) passes the cooled air through a flexible air passage hose (90) having an air output connector (96) that is attached to a structure air input port (102) located on a cooled-air receiving structure (100). The structure (100) can consist of various structures which include a bed sheet (140), a sleeping bag (148), a tent (178), a field suit (204) or a flexible non-porous drape (230) that is dimensioned to be draped over the back of an animal (304) such as a horse.
Abstract: An antenna beam controlling system (ABCS) for use in cellular communication systems. The ABCS allows the antenna's horizontal beam direction and horizontal beam width to be remotely adjusted for optimum reception and transmission. The ABCS, in its basic design, is comprised of at least one antenna reflector that incorporates a reflecting disk for receiving and transmitting RF signals, an antenna rotating assembly, and an electronic controller. All the elements of the ABCS are housed within an antenna enclosure, such as a radome, which is maintained in an environmentally shielded condition by a top and bottom cover. The electronic controller is designed to remotely activate the ABCS and to control and optimize the position of the antenna reflector.
Abstract: A double open-end claded-head wrench (10) that is particularly designed to loosen and tighten hexagon bolts and nuts that are made of a relatively soft metal such as aluminum. The wrench (10) is made of aluminum and includes a wrench handle (12), a first open-end head (28), and a second open-end head (56), a notch (50) that is cut into the corners of each of the wrenches hexagon angles, and a stainless steel head clad (80–86) that covers the upper and lower surfaces (14,16) of the first and second open end heads (28,56). The notches prevent the corners of the aluminum bolts or nuts from being worn by the gripping pressure applied by the heads of the wrench (10). The stainless steel claded heads (28,56) protect the wrench heads (28,56) from being worn from repeated uses of the wrench (10).
