Abstract: A method and system for automating a switch matrix board for cross-connecting any line in a set of input lines to any line in a set of output lines, to be used e.g. in automating cross-connects for line pairs in a central office main distribution frame (MDF) of a telecommunication network. The switch matrix (100) comprises a plurality of contact sledges (130) driven by a plurality of sledge positioning screws (120) that slidably engage a plurality of main contact pads (110) to cross-connect the lines. In an embodiment of the invention, two electric motors cooperate to position a lateral drive gear (158) to engage and rotate a selected sledge positioning screw (120), which moves the contact sledge. In another embodiment, a single electric motor operates together with a magnetic clutch assembly (180) to position the lateral drive gear to rotate the sledge positioning screw (120).

Abstract: Compact fluorescent lamp comprising a fluorescent lamp body (3), a cathode space (9) comprising a screened space (11) around an electrode (5) arranged inside the compact fluorescent lamp (1), and a power supply device (19) so arranged as to provide an electrical connection between the electrode (5) and a contact device (21) positioned next to the contact end (13) of the compact fluorescent lamp. The screened space (11) is formed by the electrode (5) enclosing the internal wall (7) of the fluorescent lamp body (3) and by a neighboring electrode (5) and beyond it a disc-shaped cathode screen (15) in a direction away from the contact end (13) containing a central opening (17).
Abstract: A hierarchical fault handling system and method based on filtering data regarding entities in the system and coordinating said filtered data in order to determined if an entity is considered faulty or not. The result for all entities is coordinated in a system fault coordinating means (17) which makes the overall decision if the system considered to be faulty or not.

Abstract: A package is proposed, comprising a sleeve (2) of essentially parallelepipedal shape, and an insert ((3) which can be inserted into and withdrawn from the sleeve (2) in a sliding direction (S) through an opening (4) in the sleeve (2), the sleeve (2) comprising four longitudinal walls (2a, 2c) which are essentially parallel to the sliding direction (S). The package is characterized in that the sleeve is provided with a first stop tab (7) which extends from a first (2c) to a second (2a) of the longitudinal walls, the tab being at least partly separated from the first longitudinal wall (2c) and the second longitudinal wall (2a) in that the insert has a first locking edge (9a), the insert being prevented, upon contact of the first locking edge with the first stop tab (7a), from moving out of the sleeve, and in that the first locking edge (9a) can, by elastic deformation of a part of the insert (3) by means of maneuvering by a user, be moved so that its movement past the first stop tab (7a) is made possible.
