  • Patent number: 7374772
Abstract: The present invention is a topical skin preparation for treatment of fungal infections of the skin and nails. The preparation comprises triacetin in combination with an antifungal agent. In a preferred form, the preparation further comprises, a fatty acid source such as a fish oil. In a preferred embodiment, cod liver oil and tolnaftate are used in combination with triacetin. The concentrations of these constituents are 96.0-99.0% concentration triacetin, 0.5-3.0% concentration tolnaftate and 0.5-1.0% concentration cod liver oil, in one preferred embodiment. Other compounds, such as ethyl alcohol, amino acids such as n-acetylcysteine, and herbal additives may also be added to the preparation. Further, other antifungal agents such as nystatin, clortimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole, solconazole, oxiconizole, naftifine, terbinafine, and butenafine, for example, may be substituted for the antifungal agent tolnaftate.

  • Patent number: 6523231
Abstract: A clip for retaining a power or extension cords for transport and to prevent damage to the cord. The clip has two sleeves (32, 34) that are created when an upper (12) and lower (14) member are coupled together by a spring clip (18). One sleeve (34) is closed and the other sleeve (32) has an opening for insertion of a power cord. A lever (16) is formed in the upper member (12) to allow for opening of the open end of the clip for the insertion of a cord. Within the closed sleeve (34) is a retaining mechanism that aids in the retention and positioning of a power cord. Integrally molded with the open sleeve (32) may be ribs (42, 44) that increase the frictional engagement between the clip and the cord. The clip can be constructed in one or two pieces and can be used with a variety of different tools and applications.

  • Patent number: 6490953
Abstract: The present invention provides novel ratchet head configurations for externally capturing a ratchet mechanism within the head of a powered ratchet wrench, such as a pneumatic ratchet wrench for example. Externally capturing the ratchet mechanism prevents the separation of the ears of the ratchet mechanism, caused by the application of torque to the ratchet head design. In prior art designs, repeated application of torque to the ratchet head caused separation of the ratchet head ears, and in turn, malfunctioning of the ratchet caused by loss of tension between the yoke of the ratchet and ratchet head itself. By preventing the ears from separating, the present invention maintains proper operation, and increased tool life. Furthermore, the tools maintenance and repair costs are decreased.

  • Patent number: 6471710
Abstract: A probe position sensing system for accurately determining a spatial location in a coordinate system of a distal end of a probe assembly. The probe assembly includes an articulated arm having a pair of sections interconnected by a flexible joint and at least one element. The element extends through the joint and is positioned to be subjected to a degree of flexure due to relative displacement of the sections. A flexure of the element induces a change in a physical property associated with the element. An instrument monitors the physical property and derives an angle between adjacent sections from variations of the physical property.

  • Patent number: 6340106
Abstract: The present invention provides a carrying rack for transporting sporting or work equipment over a truck bed. The carrying rack utilizes the space above the truck bed so the truck bed may be enclosed with a tonneau or hard shell cover. The carrying rack is mounted to the truck bed so the cover may be removed or raised without removing the entire carrying rack. The carrying rack includes removable cross members that are attached when in use. The removable cross members include mounts for attaching equipment such as bicycles, skis, kayaks, ladders, or other types of equipment. The carrying rack allows the truck bed space to be used for other purposes while transporting sporting or other equipment.

  • Patent number: 6305246
Abstract: A lubrication port is placed in the yoke of a pneumatic powered ratchet wrench or the head of a hand powered ratchet wrench. The lubrication port is placed so that it intersects with the teeth formed on the circumference of the bore formed in the yoke or the ratchet head which come in contact with the teeth formed on the outer ends of the pawl(s) of a ratchet mechanism. This allows for the application of lubricants, preferably grease, to the area of engagement between the teeth formed on the circumference of the bore of the yoke, ratchet head or ratchet mechanism and the teeth formed on the outer ends of the pawl(s) of a ratchet mechanism. Application of lubricants through the lubrication port of the present invention also allows for lubrication of the moving components of the ratchet assembly. Moreover, in a pneumatic powered ratchet wrench the lubrication port allows for application of lubricants to the drive bushing and crank of the wrench.
