Abstract: A unitary and configurative acupressure and massaging device and system for detecting and treating muscular irregularities and injuries, comprised of a plurality of resilient and compressive balls slidably mounted on and between the ends of an elongate and flexible fibrous component functioning as a ball carrier, and against which device a user's body weight is applied when the body is either at rest or in motion.

Abstract: A removable, assemblable and portable window porch and container for animal pets which is adapted to interfit within, project from and extend the opening of a standard window. The device has attaching clamps and braces secured to and carried by the elements thereof. The porch when in operative position is in the form of an open entry enclosure comprising assemblable base, side, rear and top walls for effectuating operative condition. The side, rear and top walls include frame pieces adapted for selective panel mounting and substitution to enable protecton to the pet against adverse weather and atmospheric conditions. The porch is further adapted for pet transportation when in operative condition by providing a removable front wall closure and further providing a carrying handle. The porch when in disassembled position may be easily stored away and is characterized by taking little space in stored condition.

Abstract: An emergency escape breathing apparatus comprising a relatively rigid and transparent face mask attachable to the head of the wearer, a pressurized bottle supply of air or oxygen-enriched air adapted to be fed to said mask by a flow control assembly. Said assembly includes a rupturable diaphragm valve and a pressure-reducing reservoir, the valve at one end being connected to the mouth of the pressurized bottle, at the other end being connected to the reservoir inlet, a flexible hose at one end being connected to the face mask and at the other end being connected to the outlet of the reservoir. The assembly is adapted to provide conditions of pressure and gas content within the mask for respiratory requirements for predetermined brief periods of time to bridge the emergency interval. Accordingly, the face mask has a functioning exhalation valve and may also be provided with filters to eliminate inhalation of toxic elements in the ambient air and/or aid or substitute for said exhalation valve.

Abstract: A humidifier device to prevent warping, cracking and shrinking of elements in stringed or other musical instruments subject to modification by reason of a lack of moisture in the instrument carrying case. The device comprises a small, sealed housing detachably securable to the interior of the instrument case and provides a refillable and leak-proof reservoir which feeds water or other evaporatable fluid to the top, bottom and inner peripheral side walls of an absorbent ring when the reservoir is filled to capacity; and when partially full and in any position of the carrying case water feed to the absorbent ring is maintained along at least one of the absorbent ring walls. A control ring is further provided which is rotatable about the housing to increase or decrease the evaporation rate of water from the housing ports communicating with the absorbent ring.

Abstract: An orthotic device attached to the external part of the body is adapted to provide support for the malfunctioning arm of a patient, said support offering a variety of stable arm positions in space in a manner essential for functional use of the forearm and hand. A plate attached to the body anchors an artificial ball and socket joint. The joint is actuated by a lockable rod which carries an adjustable elbow support or trough. Such structure provides the adequate range of motion and the needed accompanying stabilization of the arm in space, while said ball and socket joint replaces and/or augments the human shoulder joint. The device is worn by the patient inconspicuously under a garment, is useful either during mobility, while seated or when recumbent, and is applicable to human beings whose willful control of the shoulder joint is absent or decreased as the result of illness or injury.

Abstract: A garment clamping hanger having a pair of hinged and plastic clamping members and a relatively high-compression springable clip pivoted to one of said members for holding and releasing said garment or the like therebetween. The clamping members are structured to both resist fracture and to ease finger-controlled operation of the clip, while said clip is shaped, structured and mounted for rotary or swingable operation intermediate the periphery of the clamping members.

Abstract: A primary power source in the form of a direct energy converter provides d.c. voltage to a d.c. to a.c. converter. This in turn provides energy to an a.c. motor. The motor with appropriate speed control drives a mechanical load. When the energy of the primary source is depleted, an auxiliary engine is automatically started. The engine drives a d.c. generator which now supplies energy to the d.c. to a.c. converter. In addition, the d.c. generator can recharge the primary source. The primary power source may also be charged by an external power source. A computer controls the elements or components of the system.

Abstract: A flexible and resilient abrading or detergent pad as a cleansing, scouring and smoothing or finishing device having a pervious and knitted outer covering of synthetic yarn and an engaging core of synthetic plastic sponge frictionally biased against the inner surfaces of the covering walls, the transverse edge areas of the covering and core being compressed and integrated for anchorage of the core to the covering. For manufacture, the sponge core is inserted into the sleeve, the assembly compressed and the transverse edge areas of both covering and core while under compression integrated or connected while under further compression at such areas. Trimming of the reduced and integrated or connected edges takes place following said procedures.

Abstract: A three-dimensional puzzle comprised of matchable pieces each having a flat base to form a tabular surface when said pieces are matched. The pieces have varying and similar heights and contoured surfaces to generate a sculptured or three-dimensional subject. The puzzle may be in the form of a subject formed from a single aggregation of pieces or may be in the form of connected but independent aggregations of pieces as in the case of connected hemispheres forming a geographic globe structure in relief. The puzzle is further provided with detachable securing means for the locking of the pieces of the solved puzzle and is further provided with additional detachable securing means for connecting aggregations of locked pieces as in a pair of hemispheres as stated.

Abstract: A filler tube or hose and filter unit for disengageable attachment to and disposition within a filler pipe and within a communicating storage tank, and having as one component a flexible and reinforced hose, as a second component mounting or disengageable attaching means at the upper end of the hose for cooperation with the filler pipe mouth and for receipt of a closure cap, and as a third component filtering means at the lower end of the hose whereby said hose serves as the conduit for a smooth flow of fuel from the source or pump to the storage tank, and the filtering means serves both to eliminate impurities in the fuel and to aid in preventing sudden backsurge of the fuel from the tank in the event of accidental impact.

Abstract: In the finishing of dry wall-board surfaces at joints and outside and inside corners by applying joint compounds, by taping thereover and by applying wipe-off tools for removal of excess compound applied and feathering of the tape edges either simultaneously or otherwise, the improvement which comprises using a cellular or cellulosic sponge roller having an operative peripheral sleeve circular in profile and adapted to pick up and distribute said compound in the application thereof.

Abstract: A multichannel recording medium storer which samples the time course of notes produced by an instrument and an address for each of these samples. An interchangeable keyboard transmits a signal or signals to an electronic computer as to which note or notes are to be reproduced. The electric computer reads the note or notes to be reproduced from the recording medium and from the sample produces a faithful reproduction of the sustained note or notes. The result is available for recording on one channel of the recording medium or for reproduction on a speaker. The instrument is useful for the preparation of musical compositions and for educational purposes and demonstrations.

Abstract: Structure and method of manufacture of a golf club such as a putter and comprising a metallic and cavitied die-cast head core, an impact vibratory plate member over the cavity and communicating resonating chambered elements including the cavity and the club shaft. The head core is shaped and dimensioned for balance and for bringing the center of gravity of the club forward. The plate-covered cavity is shaped and dimensioned to control ball deflection for production of accurate top spin of the ball and to minimize damping of sound frequencies therein for transmission to the shaft.

The toothbrush head insert is comprised of a flexible base element, a longitudinally aligned row of vertically disposed, resilient, conically shaped massage elements affixed to the upper surface of the base element.

Abstract: A flexible or yieldably supported advertising sign for installation on merchandise racks, showcases, carpet display stands or "waterfalls" and the like for appropriate and necessary information to prospective purchasers on the contained merchandise and adapted to maintain a vertical position when free of overlying items for full viewing and lying in substantial horizontal position when loaded by the weight of said items. The sign or flag is adapted to automatically return to vertical position when said load is removed for continuing advertising function. The sign comprises a clip, a base member to which the clip is secured, a poster frame or panel to receive and exhibit advertising material and information and means for mounting the panel vertically along the clip, said means including yieldable interconnecting elements between the lower portion of the panel and a wall of the clip thereby permitting the panel to deflect downwardly upon application of items of merchandise thereagainst.

Abstract: Pivotally mounted attachment apparatus for use with sewing machines for controllably elasticizing circular parts of garments or other goods. A substantially upright bracket lockably pivoted to the machine has a main and lateral arm, the main arm affording a downward guidance path for elastic stripping having secured thereto means for feed initiation and metering or tensioning of the elastic stripping. The lateral arm carries the cutting apparatus. Feed initiation, metering or tensioning and cutting means include phased actuating devices fluidically operated and wherein the feed initiation and cutting cycles take place automatically and sequentially by activated controls.

Abstract: A clamping hanger having an arm and at least one pair of hinged clamping members having at least one member integrally formed with said arm for movement of the members between open and closed positions for holding and releasing a garment or the like therebetween.
