  • Patent number: 6014985
Abstract: A drop-in faucet valve is installed from above a sink countertop. The drop-in valve includes an outer cylindrical sleeve having a diameter less than the diameter of a hole in the sink countertop. The valve itself is seated within the sleeve. The sleeve includes a water flow fitting portion such as a bottom or side fitting portion having a diameter less than or equal to the diameter of the sleeve. The water flow fitting portion engages a water flow conduit, and may include a female threaded portion engageable with a male threaded portion of a further water flow conduit such as a flexible outlet hose. The sleeve is dropped into the hole in the sink countertop. An escutcheon holds the sleeve in place above the sink countertop. A lock nut is threaded over the sleeve, up to the bottom of the countertop. The hose outlet is threaded to the outlet hole in the side fitting portion of the sleeve from under the sink.

  • Patent number: 5650080
Abstract: An electric heating attachment adds heating elements to the interior of the windshield to prevent the buildup of ice under the rest zone of the windshield wipers. The accessory plugs into the vehicle cigarette lighter socket. A heat imparting strip is positioned in the vicinity of the vehicle's windshield wipers to prevent ice accumulation. The heating elements concentrate a predetermined limited amount of electric heating on the rest area of the windshield wipers, to prevent the accumulation of ice thereto.

  • Patent number: 5647492
Abstract: A space-saving clothes hanger rod structure is provided which holds clothes hangers, and clothes hanging thereon, in an optimal angled position within a closet. There is provided a generally V-shaped rod, when viewed in cross-section, including two upwardly extending members extending at an angle up from a common base point, defining a V-shaped gap therebetween. Both of the upwardly extending members contain at their respective outer, spaced apart edges a plurality of respective longitudinally spaced slot-like channels, each channel being adapted to receive a portion of the arcuate surface of a hanger hook, so that the respective hanger hooks ares held in place at two spaced apart points along the arcuate surface of the hook. As a result, the respective hanger hooks are prevented from moving and rotating off of the angle of the channel, preferably about 50.degree.. Therefore, clothes may be hung within a closet having a minimal depth therein.

  • Patent number: 5584134
Abstract: A point of sale advertising display is assembled from a flat shipping state to a three dimensional assembly. The display assembly folds together from a flat state to a three dimensional state, and utilizes the surfaces of the substrates so formed to portray advertising messages. The advertising messages are related to the actual shape of the object being advertised, such as a beverage bottle, and creates an illusion of three dimensional depth, by portraying the erect object within a hollow pedestal structure, wherein the recess between the peripheral edge of the structure and the erect object creates a visual effect of depth. The space enables a shadow to exist within the space of the pedestal structure and to portray an enhanced three dimensional effect.

  • Patent number: 5570533
Abstract: The present invention relates to an industrial pattern grading template and a method for using such a template for the upgrading or downgrading of all types and parts of a garment concurrently in all the internationally standardized sizes. Both the template and the method for using it are appropriate for vocational technical training and professional use in the mass production of garments. With the present invention, starting from a single initial size, the concurrent construction of all the required size variations of the different parts of a garment is achieved, with simplicity, certainty and absolute precision, in minimal time without geometry and complex calculations. The template has two sides and a plurality of elongate apertures of variable length and direction. These apertures are adjusted to the basic points of a garment pattern block, and they have appropriate subdivisions and scales of proportionate grading for the grading of every part of a garment.

  • Patent number: 5505241
Abstract: A device located within the tubeless tire wall of an automobile tire, capable of preserving this tire wall from the deterioration caused by its own rim, and making it possible for the vehicle to continue rolling even when said tire loses all the air contained in its interior. The device is characterized by a partially flexible ring-shaped nucleus within the tire, attached to the tire rim and adjustably positioned over the central zone of the tire rim. Obliquely projecting flexible wings rise from the base of the ring-shaped nucleus. Each wing has a projecting ring-shaped edge at the side. When the tire is in an uninflated state, the height of the central nucleus is greater than the height of the sum of the tire rim and the thickness of the folded uninflated tire sides. Each wing interposes into the space defined by the folded side walls of the uninflated tire, and the ring shaped edge maintains engagement of the bead with the rim.

  • Patent number: 5484514
Abstract: An electrolyzer having a partition plate produced by forming thin plates. The electrolyzer includes a vertical electrolyzer unit which has a partition plate formed by superimposing a pair of anode- and cathode-side partitions provided with mutually fittable recesses and projections, and an electrode plate connected to the projections on each side of the partition plate to define an electrolytic chamber. A gas-liquid separating chamber having a discharge opening is provided in the upper part of the electrolyzer unit such that the cross-sectional area of the gas-liquid separating chamber is larger at a part closer to the discharge opening than at a part remoter from the discharge opening, thereby preventing the fluctuation of pressure in the electrolytic chamber caused by pulsation occurring in the gas-liquid separating chamber.

  • Patent number: 5230298
Abstract: A decorative A-frame type water transfer bridge is provided for selectively siphoning water from one or more aquarium fish tanks. A siphon pump evacuates the desired amount of air to cause the water to enter and fill the bridge. A bleeder valve with a visually perceptible air lock permits the user to control the exact amount of air to be evacuated without spillage of water or retention of unwanted air bubbles.

  • Patent number: 5160224
Abstract: A cam action twist lock container support assembly is provided to support freight containers upon a standard flatbed truck trailer. The support includes a cam activated twist lock assembly, which lowers the base of a locking cone of the support assembly continuously down until the locking cone has rotated 90 degrees into a locking position within each of the container supports of the freight container. A corresponding cam surface for a rotating handle, which transmits a mechanical power to the rotating locking cone, thereby ensures the locking cone within the corresponding container support. For easy carrying, the cam activated twist lock assembly may be attached to hinged, fold away support portions which rotate downward towards a standard trailer side rail to a rest position, such that the cam action twist lock assembly rotates away from a vertical position of use and stores within the outer dimensional limits of the trailer.
