  • Patent number: 6474010
Abstract: The multi-use photograph album pages of this invention are configured with three overlapping clear polymer panels secured to a central panel. The transparent panels are overlapped so that the top edges are exposed and open. Each of the polymer panels is attached at its left and right edges and its bottom edge. The bottom panel is attached all along its bottom edge while the top and middle polymer panels have left, central and right attachment points which act as stops. The stops position horizontally oriented photographs and permit vertically oriented photographs to stand therebetween. The page configuration thus accepts vertical or horizontal orientation without modification.

  • Patent number: 4149055
Abstract: A high current ion beam is extracted from an ion plasma by a low perveance ion optical system including a screen electrode, a final electrode and an intermediate electrode therebetween which is shaped to correspond to the extraction voltage equipotentials therebetween. By controlling the voltage of the intermediate electrode with respect to the other two electrodes focusing is accomplished.

  • Patent number: 4048534
Abstract: Radial electron flow in an elongated electron gun is achieved from a unipotential, planar cathode by locating the cathode with respect to the gun axis and with respect to a cylindrical divergent anode lens so that the lens focal line lies on the gun axis. The effect of the accelerating field on the distortion of the radial flow is reduced by employing a deep anode grid to reduce the penetration of the accelerating field into the anode drift region.

  • Patent number: 4003640
Abstract: Electro-hydraulic driver has an electro-mechanical actuator which controls the hydraulic fluid flow control orifice. The hydraulic fluid orifice is an annulus which is connected to a cylinder having minimum volume which is supplied from a hydraulic source through a flow restriction. The piston acts against a spring so that with electrical actuation, piston motion is controlled.

  • Patent number: 4002950
Abstract: The ac transmission system is protected by circuit breaker apparatus capable of responding to fault current levels exceeding a predetermined critical fault level, but less than the maximum fault current. The fault current levels exceeding the critical level are detected by comparison of actual line current to a simulation of the critical level of fault current for one of a plurality of phases 01, 02, 03. Reference signals in quadrature with the three line voltages are continuously fed to differential amplifiers having both inputs connected in parallel until a potential fault is detected when one input is disconnected and clamped at the potential it had at the time of disconnect. The resulting output of the differential amplifiers accurately simulates the time-varying current of a system fault. The simulated signals are compared to actual line current to determine in less than one cycle if a fault is occurring and to order the appropriate breaker action.

  • Patent number: 3996735
Abstract: Electronic watch module comprises spacer block which has openings therein for batteries, crystal can, etc. and has locating pins thereon. The watch electronic substrate is located on the pins and carries most of the watch electronics including chips, printed circuitry and LED displays on the front. A cover is located on the pins, extends over many of the electronic components and resiliently engages in the watch case. The spacer block, substrate with its electronics and cover comprise the watch module which is resiliently mounted in the watch case by the resilient engagement.

  • Patent number: 3994105
Abstract: The shelter is constructed of composite, multilayer panels comprising an exterior skin aluminum sheet layer, a polymer composition foam layer, a divider skin aluminum sheet layer, an aluminum honeycomb layer, and an interior skin aluminum sheet layer. The five layers are bonded together to form the panel. In accordance with one aspect of the invention, the polymer composition foam layer has a scored surface to increase adhesive area and to increase the length of the shear failure line. In another aspect of the invention, the panels are closed out at at least two edges thereof with an extruded polymer-fiberglass closeout bar which is positioned between the inner and outer panel skins at the edge thereof and bonded thereto. These closeout bars are configured for rigid attachment between adjacent panels.

  • Patent number: 3982158
Abstract: A system control arrangement for power distribution is disclosed in which a line current exceeding a predetermined threshold level is detected as a potential fault current and initiates comparison of the line current and a projected, simulated fault current in a time interval of less than 100 microseconds. The control system responds to a line current exceeding the threshold level to begin a control cycle by opening fast-acting breakers or, inline breakers that switch the current path to a crossed-field switch tube of a current limiting circuit and the control system responds to line current exceeding the simulated fault current over a time period of 1 millisecond to open the current path through the switch tube and thereby insert the current limiting impedance after the millisecond, monitoring time period.

  • Patent number: 3978363
Abstract: Ceramic support is mounted between the housing and an electrode to physically support the electrode with respect to the housing. Mechanical support is provided in an environment of high electrical potential in a gaseous environment where Paschen breakdown, vacuum breakdown and surface breakdown are significant failure modes which result in electric conduction between the housing and electrode.
