Abstract: Automating the process for providing a radiation filter is based on different software programs executed by a computer system. The software programs include customer interface software, tool path generation software and manufacture scheduling software. Each software program performs a specific function for automating the process. The manufacture scheduling software determines available tooling machines to manufacture the radiation filter based on the generated tool path from a plurality of tooling machines, and selects one of the available tooling machines based on availability for manufacture of the radiation filter. The manufactured radiation filter is shipped, and the customer is then invoiced for the order.

Abstract: A communications system may include at least one mobile wireless communications device for storing personal interest information for respective contacts and for storing calendar event data. The system may further include a notification server communicating with the at least one mobile wireless communications device via a wireless communications network and configured to access the personal interest information and calendar event data from the at least one mobile wireless communications device, and send notifications to the at least one mobile wireless communications device based upon the personal interest information and the calendar event data.

Abstract: A geospatial modeling system may include a geospatial model data storage device, and a processor. The processor may cooperate with the geospatial model data storage device for windowing geospatial model spatial domain data to define a plurality of windowed geospatial model spatial domain data sets, and transforming the plurality of windowed geospatial model spatial domain data sets to define a plurality of corresponding geospatial model frequency domain data sets, each having at least one void therein. The processor may further cooperate with the geospatial model data storage device for inpainting data into the at least one void of each geospatial model frequency domain data set to define a plurality of inpainted geospatial model frequency domain data sets, and reconstructing the plurality of inpainted geospatial model frequency domain data sets into an overall geospatial model frequency domain data set.

Abstract: A tornado disarming network includes a command center, tornado detection systems, and tornado busting missile launch sites in communications with the command center. Tornado busting missiles are at the tornado busting missile launch sites. Each tornado busting missile includes a radar, a guidance system and a solid rocket motor for propelling the missile toward the tornado. A thruster control system causes the tornado busting missile to travel upward within the tornado upon reaching the tornado. An explosive discharge system explodes within the tornado to generate heat for causing the air within the tornado to expand, thereby weakening the tornado.

Abstract: An email communications system may include a plurality of wireless communications devices each supporting at least one markup language from among a plurality of different markup languages, and an electronic mail (email) server. The email server may include an account provisioning module for determining the at least one markup language supported by a given wireless communications device, providing at least one respective markup language provisioning template to the given wireless communications device based upon the supported at least one markup language, and generating a provisioned email account for the given wireless communications device based upon at least one provisioning parameter returned via the at least one markup language provisioning template. The email server may further include a mail-user agent module for forwarding emails to the given wireless communications device based upon the provisioned email account therefor.

Abstract: A wireless communications device may include a wireless transmitter, a modulator connected to the wireless transmitter, and a white Gaussian noise generator connected to the modulator. The white Gaussian noise generator may include at least one pseudorandom number generator, and a fast Walsh transform module for generating white Gaussian noise based upon the pseudorandom numbers.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for assessing an effectiveness of Internet marketing campaigns, and for providing data gathered thereby to subscribers. The assessment data can be gathered in concert with, for example, private sector partners. Different marketing methods are tested, compared, and evaluated for effectiveness in reaching customers. Equations are provided for calculating such values as probability of conversion of a sale and of a success of a marketing campaign, based upon such factors as user anxiety and external motivation. The data can be used to improve a marketing campaign, and also to inform a subscriber base of techniques found to be effective in Internet sales.

Each sidewall extends above and below the top and bottom of the elongate member to define upper and lower teeth spaced apart transverse notches defined in an upper surface thereof. In addition, the second sidewall has a second set of spaced apart receiving channels. The first sidewall has a first set of transverse notches defined in an upper surface thereof. Abstract: A device for producing energy for portable applications including at least one micro fuel cell and a microreactor, having a reaction chamber including a catalyst, for producing hydrogen gas to be fed to the micro fuel cell. The microreactor includes at least one substrate of a composite material for making printed circuits micromachined with printed circuit technology suitable for making the reaction chamber and having a semipermeable membrane on top of it. The substrate and the membrane are connected to the micro fuel cell to make a single body through a single pressure assembly step.

Abstract: A communications system may include an application server and at least one communications device for processing requests from one another. The communications device may process requests using an HTTP client application, for example. Furthermore, the system may also include an HTTP server for interfacing the HTTP client application with the application server. The HTTP server and the HTTP client application may format requests to be communicated therebetween via the Internet in an HTTP format, and each may provide additional state information with the HTTP formatted requests recognizable by the other for authenticating the application server and the HTTP client application to one another. Furthermore, the HTTP client application may request a first universal resource locator (URL) from the HTTP server for accepting work requests from the application server, and a second URL different from the first URL for responding to work requests from the application server.

Abstract: A query message-based call routing mechanism for a limited access cooperative telecommunication network initially determines whether the called party is commonly located at the same node as the calling party. If not, the calling party node broadcasts a query message to all other nodes in the network to locate the called party. Only the node having local knowledge of the called extension will reply to the query message. Once the node sourcing the query message has received this reply message, it will place a call to the node servicing the called extension.

Abstract: A pallet includes an upper and lower deck. The upper deck includes first joining members that project downwardly from the upper deck, with each first joining member including an outer sleeve. The lower deck includes second joining members that project upwardly from the lower deck, with second joining member including an inner sleeve. At least one of the upper and lower decks includes channels between top and bottom surfaces thereof, with each channel extending from a side edge to an opposing side edge of the corresponding deck. Sleeved reinforcing rods are in the channels. Each sleeved reinforcing rod includes a reinforcing rod having opposing ends and side surfaces therebetween, and a sleeve enclosing the side surfaces of the reinforcing rod, with there being relative movement between the sleeve and the reinforcing rod. Abstract: The communications terminal and acquisition method is for use with Continuous Phase Modulation (CPM) and Phase Shift Keying (PSK) modulation-type signals, each modulation-type signal having a respective preamble phasing sequence. The communications terminal may include a wireless communications device to receive a modulated signal having one of the CPM and PSK modulation types, and having a symbol rate. A controller may be included to cooperate with the wireless communications device to perform a transform process, such as a Fourier Transform (FT) process, on the received modulated signal to detect the modulation type and the symbol rate of the received modulated signal based upon the preamble phasing sequence. Carrier phase and frequency of the received modulated signal may be estimated based upon bin amplitudes. Also, symbol timing may be estimated based upon a phase difference between tones associated with the preamble phasing sequence.

Abstract: A backboard cover includes a sheet of flexible material having an upper portion for covering a backboard top surface. The sheet has a lower surface with a non-skid region for retaining the sheet's upper portion in position atop the backboard. The sheet has a plurality of apertures positioned and dimensioned for communicating with handholds in the backboard. The sheet has a portion that can extend over to the bottom surface of the backboard, for retaining the sheet on the backboard. The backboard cover further includes an absorbent pad affixed atop the sheet for absorbing and retaining bodily or other fluids that may be exuded during the patient's residence thereon. The wireless power transmitter transmits a power signal having a first polarization, and the first wireless data communications unit communicates using a data signal having a second polarization. A second device, e.g. an RFID tag, includes a second dual polarized loop antenna. A second wireless data communications unit communicates with the first wireless data communications unit of the first device using the data signal having the second polarization. A wireless power receiver receives the power signal having the first polarization from the wireless power transmitter of the first device, and provides power for the second device.

Abstract: A digital satellite radio system includes a content server for providing a digital satellite radio channels, and a satellite for broadcasting the digital satellite radio channels. For overcoming indoor reception problems, a modem is connected to the content server via the Internet for receiving a selected digital satellite radio channel while not receiving unselected digital satellite radio channels. A digital satellite radio unit receives the selected digital satellite radio channel from the modem while not receiving the unselected digital satellite radio channels. In lieu of the modem connected to the Internet, a repeater receiving signals from the satellite is used for providing the selected digital satellite radio channel to the digital satellite radio unit.

Abstract: A repeatable optical waveguide interconnection may include first and second optical waveguides having respective first and second end faces. Each of the first and second optical waveguides may include a core having a core index of refraction, and a cladding surrounding the core and having a cladding index of refraction different than the core index of refraction. The repeatable optical waveguide interconnection may further include a first index matching elastomeric solid layer having a proximal face chemically bound to the first end face and a low-tack distal face opposite the proximal face to be repeatably optically coupled to the second end face. Further, the first index matching elastomeric solid layer may have an index of refraction matching at least the index of refraction of the core.
