  • Patent number: 7447716
Abstract: The method of coding data within a data processing unit includes a representation as twos-complement and a coded representation of the data. The coded representation is a semi-negated representation. A data processing unit includes a memory device connected bidirectionally to a data bus, itself connected to a processing architecture which includes at least one arithmetic-logic unit. Advantageously, the data processing unit includes at least one data coding/decoding block connected between the processing architecture and the data bus.

  • Patent number: 6929770
Abstract: A mandrel-assisted resin transfer molding process and apparatus therefor provides a generally continuous, narrow annular channel between the perimeter of an inner male mold element and an outer female mold element. This channel allows air, heat and vapor to evenly escape and resin to outflow from the mold cavity everywhere around the edge of the part being molded. A very thin resin band forms in the channel is easily trimmed away, leaving the article completely finished on both sides and having a well defined edge that does not require shaping.

  • Patent number: 6815798
Abstract: A capacitor for sensing a substrate voltage in an integrated circuit power device may be implemented by isolating a portion or segment of the metal layer that normally covers the heavily doped perimeter region typically used for electric field equalization. In conjunction, one or more portions of an isolation dielectric layer of silicon oxide are not removed from the surface of the semiconductor substrate, as is commonly done before depositing the metal layer. The portions of isolated silicon oxide which are not removed become the dielectric layer of the capacitor. Moreover, one plate of the capacitor is formed by the heavily doped perimeter region that is electrically connected to the substrate (e.g. a drain or collector region). The other plate is formed by the segment of metal isolated from the remaining metal layer defined directly over the heavily doped perimeter region.

  • Patent number: 6362592
Abstract: A method is provided for driving a brushless motor of a type including windings pre-connected in a star or polygon configuration with an integrated driving system designed for independently driving the phase windings. The integrated driving system includes a plurality of output pins corresponding to the output nodes of as many half-bridge stages that are driven in pairs respectively by a direct or inverted driving signal at the same power level without overloading the output metal lines of the integrated device. Each supply terminal of the brushless motor is connected to one of the plurality of output pins of the integrated system relative to a first driving phase signal and to another output pin relative to a different driving phase signal. The drive circuit is internally configured through a plurality of integrated signal path selectors set in one or the other position depending upon the intended use of the integrated device.
