Abstract: Processes for the preparation of N-(2,4-dimethylthien-3-yl)-N-(1-methoxyprop-2-yl)-chloroacetamide and of intermediates thereof, and novel intermediates useful for the preparation of N-(2,4-dimethylthien-3-yl)-N-(1-methoxyprop-2-yl)-chloroacetamide.
Abstract: The invention relates to novel thioether derivatives of substituted benzoyl bicycloalkane diones, their use as herbicides and agricultural compositions comprising the same.
Abstract: This invention relates to inbred corn lines having the designation 899 and 901, seeds produced by said lines and hybrid corn seed produced by crossing said inbred corn lines
Abstract: Plants are transformed with the coat protein gene of one of various strains of Maize Dwarf Mosaic Virus (MDHV), and are protected from serious disease when challenged with exposure to the virus. The nucleic acid and amino acid sequences of MDMV strains A, B, and KS1 are given, as well as the constructs and vectors used to produce the transformed plants.

Abstract: Novel plectoxins isolated from the Primitive Hunting Spider, Plectreurys tristis are described, and their amino acid sequences are presented. These are toxic to various groups of insects, including Lepidopterans. A particularly potent plectoxin is Plt-VI. The plectoxins may be cloned into a baculovirus vector and hasten its speed of kill.
