  • Patent number: 8342467
Abstract: An equipoising arm structure that can selectively exert force in any direction—lifting, pressing down, or applying lateral bias—with consistent force throughout its range of articulation, comprises a force exerting device having a force exerting structure including a load arm as a first side pivotable about a load pivot, a resilient member attached to the load arm and to a termination point and forming a second side of the force exerting structure. The third side of the structure is formed by a line from the termination point to the load pivot. A first adjustment mechanism moves the termination point to change the length and disposition of the third side of the structure to positions above or below the load pivot. Additional adjustment mechanisms may alter the mounting angle of the entire force exerting structure, and/or the angular relationship between a plurality its force-exerting component devices.

  • Patent number: 8252178
Abstract: Magnetic treatment units are comprised of a body (21) having a central aperture, and having a pair of recesses (28) on opposite sides of the central aperture for inserting and retaining magnets (22) when covered by sleeve (23). The magnets (22) are flat magnets that have their poles on their flat sides, and are inserted into the recesses (28) such that the north pole of one magnet faces the south pole of the other magnet in the opposite recess. The invention also provides for a magnetic treatment assembly (10) for insertion into a pipe (11) or open channel comprising baffle plate (14) having a plurality of apertures (18) of which some have magnetic treatment units (15) attached to them such that the magnetic treatment units (15) are regularly spaced about baffle plate, and orientated so that north and south poles of magnets (22) in adjacent magnetic treatment units (15) are aligned.

  • Patent number: 8247673
Abstract: A string tuning system useful for both acoustic and amplified instruments provides a nondestructive method and kit to replace existing thumb peg tuning controls with ergonomic orbital controls. Orbital controls are sometimes referred to as “orbs” and may comprise round tuning knobs that make string manipulation ergonomic. In one embodiment, a tuning assembly 800 comprises a headstock bolt 650, comprising a threaded shaft section 651 and nut section 652, with the headstock bolt 650 fitting into the housing 506 of the string attachment shaft 500. The main wall 103 of the orb contains a perpendicular orb void 105, the orb void 105 being sometimes used to accept an orb set screw 106. The orb 100 also comprises an interior center vertical void 104, the interior center vertical void 104 sometimes used to accept an orb collar 107. The orb collar 107 comprising a main pipe like body 114, a bottom edge 109, a top edge 110, an interior vertical void 111 and a perpendicular void 108.

  • Patent number: 8191569
Abstract: A valve assembly uses an O ring contained within a void such that the outer edges of the valve assembly reach the outer mid section of the O ring. A kettle for brewing beer or heating other fluid is drilled so as to accommodate the disclosed valve. The O ring is pressed and held against the outside surface of the kettle wall. A retaining nut placed within the kettle further secures the valve to the kettle. As the surface of the kettle heats during use, the contained O ring retains sufficient contact with the valve and kettle so as to prevent leakage.

  • Patent number: 8146381
Abstract: A system for providing an infusion chamber provides a clip assembly for attachment within a drinking vessel. A box assembly contains an infusion chamber and may be attached to the clip assembly. The box assembly has a top swinging lid to accept dry ice and other materials suitable for infusion. The bottom of the box assembly features a communication void or slot at the bottom of the box to allow the contents of the box assembly to mix with the surrounding drink, but yet not fall loose into the drink. The clip features contoured adhesive wedges to assist in attachment of the clip to the inside portions of a drinking container. The clip assembly has a thin stop tab or shelf that fits into the box assembly. A side hook from the box assembly is supported by the lower portion of the stop tab or shelf of the clip assembly. The upper or top side of the stop tab or shelf is trapped by a stop tab of the box assembly.

  • Patent number: 8125710
Abstract: Primary colors red, green and blue are each transmitted in three adjacent frequencies to create stereoscopic 3D images. A true center frequency for each primary color is transmitted to one eye while two straddling frequencies, on either side of the center frequency, are transmitted to the other eye. Untinted, notch filtered stereoscopic 3D eyeglasses may be used to segregate light frequencies and direct one channel to each eye of the viewer. A new dual channel laser illumination projection engine may be used to homogenize, condense, combine, and polarize light from red, blue and green lasers to create stereoscopic images suitable for projection on either white of sliver screens.
