  • Patent number: 7350457
Abstract: The apparatus for preparing a beverage with a foam layer suitable for consumption is provided with a mixing chamber, supply means for supplying a liquid, such as water or steam, to the mixing chamber and first dosing means for dosed supply of a concentrate to be mixed with the liquid, such as a coffee concentrate, to the mixing chamber for mixing the concentrate with the liquid in the mixing chamber while foam is formed for obtaining the foamed beverage suitable for consumption. The mixing chamber is designed as a whirl chamber while the supply means supply the liquid to the whirl chamber in such a manner that in the whirl chamber a whirl is formed of the supplied fluid. The supply means are provided with a second dosing device for dosed supply of the liquid to the whirl chamber and the apparatus is further provided with a control device for controlling the first and second dosing device for preparing a predetermined amount of beverage.

  • Patent number: 6996312
Abstract: A tunable Fabry Perot filter (TFPF) uses the hybrid integration of MEMS and micro-optics. The mirrors forming the TFPF are actively aligned to provide a high finesse TFPF. One of the reflectors is mounted to a flexible member, for example a beam member fixed at both ends. The flexible member is deflectable in a direction parallel to the axis of the TFPF so as to adjust the gap between the reflectors, thus tuning the TFPF. One or both of the mirrors may be deposited on the end of an optical fiber.

  • Patent number: 6870110
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a fluid level float switch and protective boot therefore. The boot is adapted to engage a detent portion of the float switch in a secure watertight fashion. The boot is adapted to flexibly accommodate movement of the float within the boot in response to changes in the liquid level in the reservoir in one embodiment or to engage contacts in another. The boot has a wall engaging portion for providing watertight engagement with an interior wall of the reservoir. The boot has an accordion shaped stem portion to facilitate insertion of the float switch into the boot and to flexibly accommodate movement of the float within the boot in one embodiment, or a rigid portion attached to the flexible portion in another embodiment.

  • Patent number: 6494252
Abstract: Electronics cabinet comprising an enclosure (1) with an interior space (2) where electronic parts, such as circuit cards and the like, can be mounted, and a cooling system (3) arranged as a substantially integral assembly with the enclosure in the immediate vicinity of its interior space for cooling the interior space. The cooling system (3) comprises means for internal air circulation within the interior space, for conveying an external air circulation separated from the internal air circulation into and out of the cooling system and for cooling the air in the internal circulation. The means for conveying the internal and/or external air circulation comprise a body (4) made from a foamed material with a flow channel (5, 6, 7) formed in it, through which at least part of the internal and/or external air circulation is passed.
