Abstract: A high-visibility covering is removably attached to a firefighter turnout coat at the shoulders and front closure by easily separable fasteners so that the assemblage can be donned as a single coat and the high-visibility covering can be easily ripped off. In one embodiment, the covering is a single panel that wraps around the coat, extending from the shoulders to the waist or hips. In another embodiment, the covering is composed of three panels, two front panels and a back panel. Front shoulder straps on the covering are removably attached to the front of the turnout coat at the shoulders. Back shoulder straps on the panel overlap and are removably attached to the corresponding front shoulder straps. In the three panel embodiment, the back panel has a pair of lappets that overlap and are removably attached to the corresponding front panel.

Abstract: A cuff closure comprising a flap having one end attached to the cuff and a free end, a longitudinal slit in the cuff adjacent to the attached end of the flap, a flap fastener component on the flap, a first surface fastener component on the first surface of the cuff that mates with the flap fastener component, and a second surface fastener component on the second surface of said cuff that mates with the flap fastener component. When the first surface is the outside surface, the flap fastener component mates with the first surface fastener component and, when the second surface is the outside surface, the flap fastener component mates with the second surface fastener component.

Abstract: An ignition wire spark plug terminal comprising a connector and a wire attachment. The wire attachment is adapted to attach to a wire. The connector is comprised of a ferrule and a spring clip. The ferrule is generally at least semi-cylindrical and the spring clip is a partially cylindrical band that is permanently attached coaxially to the ferrule. Dimples in the spring clip extend through holes in the ferrule into the space within the ferrule that receives a spark plug or distributor cap terminal. The permanent attachment is by weld, solder, or adhesive.

Abstract: A band that extends around a garment appendage, such as a sleeve or trouser leg. The band has a concealed position that hides a reflective tape and a deployed position where the reflective tape is visible. The band includes a strip that encircles and is attached to the garment appendage at a distance from the free end of the garment appendage. The reflective tape is bonded to the underside of the strip or to the garment appendage.

Abstract: A method of playing a poker-type bonus to another game that is triggered by an event in the game. After being triggered, a plurality of revealed, two-card starter hands and five unrevealed community cards are displayed. The unrevealed cards are then revealed. Each starter hand is combined with the community cards to form complete hands. The player is paid a predetermined amount if any of the complete hands is found in a pay table.

Abstract: The apparatus has an x-ray source that emits an x-ray cone beam through a tubular, x-ray-blocking guide to a planar template with a small pinhole to produce a pencil beam. The template is movable so the pencil beam can scan the target region to be imaged. Between the template and target region is an x-ray detector assembly with a plastic scintillator. The scintillator has an opening about the same size and shape as the target region that allows the pencil beam to pass to the target region. Photo-multiplier detectors receive the light generated by the backscattered x-rays in the scintillator. The method of the present invention employs the apparatus. Multiple x-rays source locations permit the generation of 3D images.

Abstract: A method of playing a succession of poker-type games where two cards are revealed in each of a plurality of hands. The cards in the hands remain the same for all of the games in the succession of games. After a player sees the hands, the player wagers on at least one of the hands. Three community cards are randomly chosen and revealed followed by a second round of wagering where the player must either raise or fold each hand wagered on in the previous wager round. The three community cards are part of each hand. Two more community cards are revealed and the winning hand is determined where each hand is a combination of the first two cards and the five community cards.

Abstract: A tie down for connecting two objects. The tie down has an elastic tube having an unstretched state and a stretched state, a braided line extending through the tube, with the line having a compressed state and an uncompressed state, and a mechanical securement at each tube end to secure the line to the tube such that the line is in its compressed state when the tube is in its unstretched state and the line is in its uncompressed state when the tube is in its stretched state. Each end has an attachment for attaching to the objects.

Abstract: A dual-energy x-ray source located a distance of one half of the maximum width of the subject from the subject emits a cone beam to a horizontal slit in an x-ray-blocking sheet, producing a fan beam that is chopped into a pencil beam by a rotating disk with radial slots. The pencil beam sweeps a subject, producing backscatter read by a plastic scintillator detector situated very close to and curved around the sides of the subject. The entire assembly translates vertically to produce a complete image of the subject. Pencil beam area is increased farther from the center by increasing the width of the slit toward both ends and increasing the width of the slots toward the outer end. High and low peak x-ray energies of 50 KeV or more and 30 KeV or less, respectively, enable differentiation between innocent and contraband materials that both contain low Z materials.

Abstract: A compliant electrical contact and an assembly employing a plurality of the contacts that provides an interface between two electrical devices. The contact has a convoluted spring with convolutions and a contact point at each end. In one contact embodiment, the convolutions have appendages which electrically short adjacent convolutions throughout a significant portion of the compression range of the contact. An appendage may be a single finger that extends from one convolution toward the adjacent convolution, a pair of opposed fingers that extend toward each other from adjacent convolutions, or machined edges on adjacent convolutions. In some configurations, the fingers or a surface on the appendage or fingers are at a skew angle to the direction of compression. In another contact embodiment, a shunt attached at one contact point and parallel to the spring spans most or all of the convolutions longitudinally.
