Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, and means or device comprising an attachment, that is capable of quickly, efficiently, and accurately, horizontally aligning printing plates, especially offset printing plates on a rotary press such as an offset press, before the production run of the press. Set-up time is reduced to a minimum. The attachment may be removably affixed at a convenient location on the press in such a manner as to adjustably cooperate with the printing plate for horizontal alignment thereof, whereafter, the plate is locked in place, or hangs freely on the printing cylinder, and the printing job or run is started. Once the attachment or device guide is properly positioned, other or subsequent printing plates can be substituted for or changed with the first plate and quickly aligned, as the workload and variety of jobs for the day demands.
Abstract: Hard, infusible, discrete beads of crosslinked copolymer are prepared by free-radical catalyzed polymerization of a monomer mixture in aqueous dispersion wherein a minor amount of a modifier, specifically an organic compound containing acetylenic or allylic unsaturation having the ability to moderate the rate of polymerization, is incorporated in the monomer mixture. Ion exchange resins having improved mechanical strength are obtained by attaching functional groups to the copolymer.

Abstract: Novel membranes having one coating or layer of a cationic polyelectrolyte, the method of preparation, and use for rejecting ionically charged solutes.
Abstract: A new class of thermally labile compounds having rust inhibiting properties is disclosed and claimed. The compounds (or formulations thereof) are especially useful as rust inhibitors when used either alone or in multi-purpose additive mixture for distillate hydrocarbon fuels having a major proportion of hydrocarbon fuel distilling within the gasoline distillation range or other oil compositions to provide rust protection in fuel distribution systems which operate at ambient temperature (e.g., pipelines, tank trucks, and storage tanks). Preferred embodiments of the invention are alkylammonium carboxylate salt-ethoxylated alkyl phenol esters of a dicarboxylic acid.
