  • Patent number: 7284400
Abstract: Apparatus is simply hung on a deadbolt knob when the deadbolt is in locked position. It prevents the deadbolt knob from rotating enough to retract the deadbolt. This ensures that the door cannot be unlocked from the outside. A passage in an upper end of the apparatus is dimensioned to receive the deadbolt knob. The deadbolt knob is not round. The passage has side walls narrow enough to prevent the deadbolt knob from rotating freely within the passage. As the knob is rotated, the knob engages the side walls of the passage so that the entire apparatus rotates until the lower end of the apparatus engages a fixed element that prevents further rotation of the knob. That fixed element is either the door jamb or the doorknob. This immobilizes the knob and deadbolt.

  • Patent number: 7191649
Abstract: A liquid level sensor apparatus for monitoring the drain line of condensate from an air handler of a refrigeration system senses the presence of backup liquid in a vertical pipe in the drain system. A closure of the upper end of the pipe supports a magnetic switch assembly down in the pipe. A float with magnet surrounds the switch. When water in the pipe raises the float to a fixed distance below the closure, the magnet opens the switch circuit to control the air conditioning system. A vent in the closure permits air in the pipe to escape as the water rises in the pipe. Optical and sonic alarms may be included.

  • Patent number: 7185775
Abstract: A nursing nipple is sealingly attached to a beverage container having a neck with a particular internal diameter by the invention. Sealingly attached below the nipple is an axial passage in fluid communication with the nipple. Many thin, resilient annular rings surround the passage. They have an external diameter larger than the internal diameter of the container neck. When the rings are forced into the neck of the container, they are compressed against the inner surface of the neck. This secures and seals the nipple to the container providing a convenient source of fluid for a baby.

  • Patent number: 7163518
Abstract: Apparatus attaches to the leg at or below the knee to take the shock of walking off the foot and ankle. The foot is encased in a boot. Two spaced-apart tubes extend upward from a subfloor mounted below the boot. The boot is mounted for sliding up and down on the tubes. A pair of parallel elongate rods are attached at their upper ends to the upper portion of the leg at or below the knee, such that the lower ends of the rods are in the tubes. A spring, preferably a gas compression spring, is inserted into each tube so that the lower end of each rod compresses the spring as body weight is put on the subfloor in walking. The subfloor moves toward the boot as the springs are compressed, reducing some of the shock of walking and transferring forces to the leg. The rods may be attached to the leg by a cast, brace or orthosis.

  • Patent number: 7150722
Abstract: A walking support apparatus for a person wearing a body brace has a rigid wheeled frame. An upright support engages a torso-encircling brace member. A chest-engaging member is mounted on the support. A person is connected to the apparatus while on a seat removable attached to the frame. The person is then lifted to a standing position by cranking up the support. A mechanism mounted behind the support anchors first ends of two cords that connect at second ends to the knees. It prevents both knees from moving forward simultaneously. One knee moves forward while taking up slack in the other cord. Shoe cords enable moving one foot forward at a time, and prevent both feet moving backward together. Elastic elements in shoe cords provide assistance at beginning of stride.
