  • Patent number: 4915688
Abstract: An apparatus for producing and/or administering medicines and nutritional solutions to a patient. The apparatus includes a multiway valve having a plurality of inlets, an outlet and a collecting reservoir between the inlets and the outlet. The multiway valve may also have an injection site and connection that can be used both as an inlet and an outlet. The inlets, outlets and injection site each include a one-way valve which allows flow only in the direction from the inlets to the patient. A syringe may be connected to the inlet/outlet connection to draw an amount of solution form one or more of the solution bags and then move the solutions together into a mixing bag connected at the outlet, to prepare a medicine or nutritional solution.

  • Patent number: 4874369
Abstract: A self-priming injection site having a stopper that resists dislocation or removal from the injection site. The stopper is positioned within the plastic housing between a top with an open center and an intermediate ledge having an upturned lip. The stopper includes an annular groove that receives the upturned lip of the intermediate ledge, to assist in holding the stopper in compression within the housing. An arm portion allows the intravenous fluid to enter the injection site on a path approximately parallel to and immediately adjacent to the ledge and the bottom of the stopper. A check valve may be positioned within the arm portion.

  • Patent number: 4838429
Abstract: A flexible thermoplastic pouch having an easy-open tear strip means secured thereto is provided. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a tear strip is secured to an imperforate sidewall of a flexible pouch along two sawtooth securement lines arranged generally in the shape of an ellipse. The point where the two securement lines converge is give a W-shape, which provides two points of high stress concentration. When the user grasps and pulls the tear strip means, the securement lines rupture precisely at these two points of stress concentration and continue along the sawtooth securement lines, thereby providing the pouch with a dispensing opening of predetermined size, shape, and location. A sealing die apparatus for forming sawtooth, notched lines of securement between the tear strip means and the flexible pouch is alos disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4697710
Abstract: The carpet display stand of the present invention generally comprises a support assembly having at least four legs. The support assembly carries a basket deferred by vertical and horizontal framing pieces. The basket further includes a multitude of horizontal wires which have at least one depressed or U-shaped section connected with the vertical basket framing wires. A basket support wire joins the depressed section of the formed horizontal wires. The basket also includes a unique friction clip device formed from a plurality of eveny-spaced, integrally-formed loop-shaped strutures. Adjacent clip devices define a slot between which corners of the carpet samples are downwardly inserted.

  • Patent number: 4651797
Abstract: A roll-up screen door includes a long, narrow housing having a length adapted to extend vertically for the full height of a door casement opening. The housing contains a conventional spring-biased roll upon which is initially wound a large sheet of flexible screen material, one end of which is secured to the roll so that the screen material can be unwound from the roll against the tension of the roll. When the housing is mounted adjacent to one side of the vertical trim strip along one side of the door casement opening, the screen material passes through a longitudinal exit slot in the housing in a plane located inwardly of the front face of the vertical trim strip, so that the screen material sealingly engages the adjacent vertical trim strip when it is stretched across the door opening.
