  • Patent number: 5096283
Abstract: An adjustable rear view mirror extension apparatus that attaches to a standard existing rear view mirror found in most automobiles and other motor vehicles. The apparatus has a mirror, a mirror frame to secure the mirror, a plurality of lateral supports to position the mirror on the frame, and a flexible mirror retainer to releasingly retain the mirror in the mirror frame. There is a mirror frame support that allows the mirror to rotate on a vertical axis and a rotating device to allow the mirror to rotate on a horizontal axis. The rotating device has a housing comprising two sections. The two sections are adjustably connected to adjust the tension of the insert spring which controls the ease of movement of the mirror around its horizontal axis. The rotating device has a first and second surface with a plurality of radial bosses and grooves, respectively, included are an insert, spring and insert gripping device to restrict rotation.

  • Patent number: 4987827
Abstract: An apparatus for cooking food stuffs especially for frying batter into tortillas. The apparatus has two separate cooking areas. One area has an upper and a first lower heating surface for precooking the tortilla and one area has a single second lower heating surface for additional preparation of the tortilla such as adding and warming a filling or finishing the cooking of the tortilla batter. There is a separate temperature control for each cooking area, an on/off switches and power on indicator light for each cooking area. The apparatus has a tension means that biases the upper heating surface in an open position relative to the first lower heating surface. The heating surfaces have a coating on them to reduce adherence of food stuffs during cooking and to aid in the cleaning of the heating surfaces. • Patent number: 4982525
Abstract: A collapsible lobster or crab trap is described that has a pyramidal shape with a triangular base and three triangular sides. The sides and the base are covered with a mesh material. At least one of the sides has an entrance leading to a truncated cone shaped net that acts as a passageway to further entrap the catch. The trap has a lifting means in at least one of the sides to assist the diver to remove the catch and rebait the trap by hinging one side of the trap open. There is a net support means to keep the net in an open configuration to provide an easy entry for the catch to enter the trap. The sides are hinged to the base and one of the sides has spring clips near its apex. The hinges and the spring clips allow the trap to be easily placed and secured in its operable pyramidal shape and in its stored collapsed state.

  • Patent number: 4978023
Abstract: A modular cooler that is made of individually insulated modular cooler compartment units that can be stacked together to make a custom sized cooler for any occasion needed. The basic unit is a cylindrical bottom container having specific interlocking structure on its top edge. A tubular compartment unit having mating interlocking structure on its bottom edge is detachably engaged with the interlocking structure of the bottom container unit. A locking ring surrounds both of these interlocking structures and by rotating it a short predetermined distance the two units can be locked together or unlocked. One form of locking ring has a solid central wall that forms it into a compartment divider. Additional units can be stacked together by using additional tubular compartment units and locking rings. A disc-shaped top cover has interlocking structure on its bottom edge. O-rings are positioned between the interlocking structures to make the adjacent compartment watertight and airtight.

  • Patent number: 4969834
Abstract: A jumper cable apparatus to interconnect two batteries is described. The apparatus has a first and second connecting means that releasably engage each other. The first and second connecting means have a polarity-sensitive and current-limiting circuit within each connecting means with one or more colored LEDs, a current-limiting resistor and a piezoelectric alarm. The circuits also indicate when one of the batteries may have an open or short cell. The second connecting means has an electrically insulative, translating block means to reduce the chance of accidental contact with the interior of the connecting means and to reduce the chance of arcing outside of the electrically insulated housing and block means. The apparatus may have an extension cable apparatus to assist jumping the batteries when access to the batteries may be difficult. The housings of the connecting means have bosses and slots to aid in the alignment of the housings and to align the positive cables when the housings are interconnected.

  • Patent number: 4942362
Abstract: An analyzation apparatus for ignition systems that has a pulse detector circuit that generates and converts an AC signal into a DC signal, filters unwanted signals and allows the user to adjust the amplitude of the signal to accommodate differing ignition systems. A pulse stretching circuit is included to increase the duration of the signal and an analog driver circuit is included to convert the signal received by it to a linear voltage suitable for driving two LED display circuits. The LED circuits are connected in parallel with the driver circuit and the visual display of the LED circuits show a display proportional to the amplitude of the signal received from the driver circuit. The LED displays show the amplitude of the signal. The LED circuits have diodes the prevent current flow between adjacent LED's of the adjacent LED circuits. The apparatus includes a function switch to select the LED circuit desired and to interrupt power to the apparatus. A portion of the elements are enclosed in a case.
