Abstract: A metal detectable lens that includes a first layer having a first and second surface, the first layer including a visibly transparent material; and a second layer disposed on the first surface of the first layer, wherein the second layer is a layer of conductive material. Eyewear including at least one such metal detectable lens and methods of detecting at least a portion of metal detectable eyewear are also disclosed.
Abstract: The disclosure relates to safety eyewear disposed in a safety helmet and including a transparent panel for positioning in front of the eyes of the wearer. At each side of the panel, arms are provided which, at their ends are pivotally connected, on the one hand to the panel and, on the other hand, to the helmet. The arms also each have an interjacent joint at a point between their respective ends. The disclosure also relates to a safety helmet provided with safety eyewear in accordance with the foregoing.
Abstract: A heat management system for industrial safety equipment is described, including an industrial safety article (e.g., a full face respirator), a power source and a fan unit, wherein the fan unit is mounted on the industrial safety article such that the fan directs air within a confined or other interior space of the industrial safety article, and wherein the fan unit is powered by the power source.

Abstract: Headgear adapted to protect a wearer having a visor and a flexible circumferential band adapted to be supported by a head of the wearer. A mounting attachment attaches the visor to the flexible circumferential band at each of two side attachment locations with the visor generally positioned in front of a face of the wearer. The mounting attachment has a slide channel associated with the flexible circumferential band and a slide associated with the visor. The slide is able to slide forward and aft in the slide channel with respect to the face of the wearer and is selectively securable in a plurality of forward and aft positions. This allows the visor to be adjusted inwardly and outwardly with respect to the face of the wearer.
Abstract: A respiratory component mounting assembly includes a first respiratory component, a second respiratory component and a mounting clip for mounting the second respiratory component to the first respiratory component. Each of the first and second respiratory components includes at least two spaced apart clip openings. The mounting clip has an intermediate portion and two spaced apart free ends connected to the intermediate portion. The intermediate portion of the mounting clip is received within both of the clip openings of the first respiratory component and the free ends of the mounting clip are received in the clip openings of the second respiratory component for releasably securing the first and second respiratory components together.

Abstract: Method, apparatus, and system are utilized for testing the performance of a gas monitor against predetermined monitor characteristics to determine if performance of the gas monitor is validated in a manner whereby testing gas is directly delivered to the gas sensor.
Abstract: A portable cooling or respiratory blower system of the type carried by a user's body includes a housing having two air flow chambers. An impeller is rotatably disposed between the two air flow chambers and includes a base wall that places the two air flow chambers in non-fluidic communication when the impeller is rotated. A separate plurality of blades is provided on each side of the base wall.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for objectively assessing acoustical performance of an in-ear device having a passageway extending there through use a dual microphone probe that removably engages the passageway. The acoustical performance of the in-ear device is performed with the in-ear device inserted into the ear canal of the user and a reference sound source. A clip holding the probe in an acoustic near field of the sound source permits real time calibration thereof. The method and apparatus allow on-site and in-situ measurement of a predicted personal attenuation rating of the device, a subject-fit re-insertion test, an acoustic seal test, a rating test, a stability and reliability test, as well as a protection test of the device with an assessment of a filtered predicted exposure level at the ear for a specific noise exposure level. The apparatus may be simply housed along with the sound source for in-field evaluation tests.
