Abstract: A rear mounted penetration limiter for bow-fired projectiles for use in combination with a projectile and a nock, wherein said projectile is an arrow or a crossbow bolt, said penetration limiter comprising an attachment component, a nock securing component, and an engagement component having one or more engagement members, with said penetration limiter suitably adapted to limit the penetration of the projectile through a game animal once the front end of the projectile has struck and passed through the game animal, thereby allowing the creation of an exit wound while retaining the projectile within the game animal. In one embodiment the penetration limiter is adapted to detach from the projectile, remaining secured thereto by a short tether, thereby allowing the detached penetration limiter to reorient itself within the game animal to create greater drag on the projectile.
Abstract: A method and system for an internet-based online research solution through the comparison and contrasting of a potentially infinite number of subjects having defined attributes within predefined as well as dynamic subject contexts; a method and system for searching a potentially infinite number of subjects against a customized set of attribute-value configurations to arrive at an appropriate set of subjects for further research; a method and system for an online research solution by which the user efficiently researches online using a highly customized search, collation, and compilation of comparison-contrast information; a Universal Research Framework that may be embedded within any externally managed information system and which enables the above three methods to be performed within the specific system for research.
Abstract: An improved refractometer for automatically determining the refractive index of a test subject by using principles embodied in Brewster's Angle, the refractometer comprising a light source, a light detector, a subject mount for securing the test subject to the device, a positioning device to orient the light source and light detector to the subject such that the angles of the light source and light detector to the subject are substantially identical, a data gathering device to automatically retrieve relevant data regarding the angles of the light source and light detector to the subject and the light intensity of the reflected light, and a computational device to process the data using algorithms taking into account the principles embodied in Brewster's Angle and/or Fresnel Equations in order to arrive at the refractive index of the test subject.

Abstract: A one piece display stand for the point-of-sale display of produce, such as bananas, manufactured out of a closed cell foam material and of solid construction, with generally flat sides and bottom and a top surface having a number of concave troughs for holding the produce. The display stand is used in a retail setting by first being placed onto a table or other support structure, and then having produce placed within the concave troughs of the top surface. The troughs hold the produce in a visually pleasing manner, while the foam construction of the stand protects the produce from damage.
