Abstract: A vegetable material and a process for preparing the same is disclosed which is usable as a precooked pattie or filler and contains a main body of beans or peas, a filler material such as flour or potato, a selection of spices or condiments and a preservative combined to form a composition of matter which form a nutritious, tasty food which can be formed into a pattie without the need for extensive pretreatment by steaming, boiling or pan frying.
