Abstract: A method of electrochemical analysis using a sensor electrode specific for an analyte under test. The method comprises immersing the sensor electrode in a sample solution suspected of containing the analyte; forming an electrochemically active complex by exposure to solutions containing secondary receptors or competing molecules labelled with a charged or enzyme label; and subsequently exposing the sensor to an electrochemically active solution. The measurement step comprises driving the sensor electrode potential to a predetermined fixed potential by applying a current or activation waveform then monitoring the potential difference between the sensor electrode and a reference electrode following removal of the holding current. Current, rate and potential can all be measured and used to determine analyte concentration or sensor state.
Abstract: Endodontic fibers including a biocompatible polymer vehicle permeable to medicaments, or combinations of medicaments, and method of using such endodontic fibers are described. Such fibers can be used, for example, in a method for the local delivery and sustained release of medicaments to intracanal treatment sites.

Abstract: The present invention relates to animal waste scooper device and system. The scooper includes a base having a blade having a front edge, a back edge, a first side, a second side, a plurality of openings. The base also includes an elongated member having a top portion and a bottom portion, wherein the base is attached to or at the bottom portion of the elongated member; and the bottom portion is angled such that the blade axis has an angle in a range of between about 100 degrees and 140 degrees in relation to the top portion; and a hook mounted to the elongated member above the angle. The system further includes a pail having a handle; and a litter box having a bottom surface and four sides extending from the bottom surface, the four sides having a height between about 8 inches and about 12 inches.
Abstract: The present invention relates to new methods for treating and/or preventing vascular events by inhibiting G-coupled Protease Activating Receptor (PAR)-1 and/or PAR-4 with the administration of statins. In one embodiment, individuals who are at risk for vascular events, but have cholesterol levels (e.g., total cholesterol or Low Density Lipoprotein) in normal ranges, are treated with statins.
Abstract: The present invention embodies to a palatal expansion device that includes one or more stabilizers attached to the blocks; a ratchet that engages the screw; and a built-in activator that communicates with the ratchet. This design allows essentially unidirectional rotation of the screw. The ratchet system embodies a pin/pocket arrangement, or a ratchet wheel/spring arrangement. The present invention involves kits and methods for expanding the maxillary arch or mandible using the palatal expansion devices of the present invention.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a training grip for a tennis racket. The training grip has a series of protrusions and recesses that receive a user's hand and place it in proper position for a particular grip type. The present invention, in one embodiment, includes a universal training grip that allows the grip to be used for more than one grip type. The present invention includes methods, systems and kits that encompass such a tennis training grip.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a tray for use with a walker. The tray includes a generally rigid tray base having an essentially rectangular shape with a front long side, a back long side, a first short side and a second short side, and wherein the tray has a length that extends to or past the essentially horizontal support member; a ridge extending along the sides of the tray, wherein the ridge has a height of at least about a ½ inch; a strap having a hook and loop fastener wherein the strap is positioned at or near the back long end; and a first hinge and a second hinge, the first and second hinges are positioned, when the tray is in use, at or near the front leg of the first and second support, respectively. The length of the tray is greater that the distance between the support member of the first support and the support member of the second support; and the width of the tray is less than the length of the support member of the first support or second support.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a protective ionizing device, or protective static eliminator, and methods, systems, apparatus and kits using the device. The device has a surface having a series of (e.g., one or more) grooves or gaps, each groove defines a space; and a multiplicity of ionizing points suspended in the space, just below the upper surface of the device. The ionizing points can be suspended on braided microfibers, on an extruded surface in the groove, on an elastic cord, or on a wire core. The device is useful for the efficient elimination of static charge build-up on a surface of insulative material while maintaining and protecting the ionizing points.

Abstract: The present invention pertains to an apparatus for partitioning seats in a vehicle. In one embodiment, the apparatus has a first partition for separating the back row of seats from the front row of seat in a vehicle; and at least one mounting member for securing the partition to the front row seat. The present invention also relates to an apparatus for partitioning a seat from an adjoining seat, and further includes a second partition, attached to the first partition, and at least one mounting member attaching the second partition to the backseat. The present invention also includes methods for separating or partitioning pets, children, groceries, etc. from adjoining seats of a vehicle by using the apparatus described herein. Also embodied are systems, vehicles and kits that include the apparatus.

Abstract: The present invention relates to scaffold safety apparatuses that allow a construction worker to safely tie-off while erecting a scaffold. The present invention allows the worker to move across one or more scaffold sections without having to disengage the safety line. In one embodiment, the safety apparatus (e.g. safety device or safety mount) includes two offset elongated members disposed in essentially parallel directions, wherein at least one of these two elongated members has a device that engages a safety line. The safety apparatus also has a connector that connects one elongated member to the other elongated member, and an attachment for securing at least one elongated member to the scaffold. The present invention additionally pertains to a scaffold safety system that includes one or more safety apparatuses, and a safety line; safety scaffolds, kits and methods for using same.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a tire cover or casing that includes two flexible sides and a central member. The flexible sides have a width sufficient to essentially cover a sidewall of a tire, while allowing, when mounted on the tire, access to the inner opening of the tire; and a securing device for securing the side over the sidewall of the tire. The central member has sufficient length to essentially cover a tire tread; and an adjusting device for adjusting the size of the tire cover or casing to fit the tire. The present invention further includes methods for changing a flat tire, for storing a seasonal tire, and for covering tires for use in a show room or the ground. Additionally, the present invention relates to wheel assemblies and emergency roadside kits, both including the tire cover.
