  • Patent number: 6738270
Abstract: Disclosed is a parallel power source system which has a plurality of power supply units connected in parallel to one another and is designed in such a way that a voltage loss in an inverse-current preventing circuit provided in each power supply unit is reduced, the flexibility of the system design including lengths of power source wirings is maintained and when a short circuit failure occurs in some power supply unit, power supply from the other power supply units continues stably without significantly changing a voltage supplied to a load. The inverse-current preventing circuit comprises an MOS transistor that is intervened in series in an output path in each power supply unit and forms a switch circuit which is normally on, and a potential difference response circuit which operates to turn off the MOS transistor when a potential on the current-output side of the MOS transistor becomes greater than a potential on the current-input side thereof by at least a given amount.

  • Patent number: 6400788
Abstract: A fuel assembly, particularly, a fuel assembly including short-length fuel rods and fuel spacers, is used for a boiling water reactor, which is capable of sufficiently reducing the pressure loss of at least one of the fuel spacers positioned above the upper ends of the short-length fuel rods, irrespective of the arrangement of the short-length fuel rods, and also ensuring the structural strength of the fuel spacer. The fuel assembly includes fuel rods located in a square lattice array, two water rods arranged in a region in which seven of the fuel rods are arrangeable, two fuel spacers for holding the fuel rods and the water rods with mutual intervals kept immovable. Each of the fuel spacers includes cells which are connected to each other and in which the fuel rods are to be inserted, respectively, and a band for surrounding the outermost peripheries of the cells. The short-length fuel rods include four first short-length fuel rods arranged in the outermost peripheral region of the square lattice array.

  • Patent number: 5607866
Abstract: In a method of fabricating a semiconductor device having a MISFET and/or bipolar transistor and/or a resistor formed with different surface portions of a single silicon semiconductor substrate in which a silicide layer is formed on each of source/drain regions of the MISFET and/or collector contact region and extrinsic base region of the bipolar transistor and/or contact regions of the resistor, the bipolar transistor has its emitter region formed by diffusing an impurity contained in doped polysilicon film serving as an emitter electrode of the bipolar transistor into a part of its base region. The resistor may have a resistive region formed in a surface portion of the substrate and may be covered with an insulating film and a doped polysilicon film thereon or may have a doped polysilicon film formed over a surface portion of the substrate as a resistor element.

  • Patent number: 5232172
Abstract: A bobbin holder (1), particularly for a cigarette making machine, is provided with a device for rewinding the expiring end of a reel (2) back on to the reel core (6) following a splice. This provides a convenient way of removing the expired end (with the core) and avoids possible entanglement of a loose expired end in parts of the machine. The device may comprise a pin (22) carried by a rotatable support (12) for the reel (2) and axially slidable by engagement with a cam (24) into a position to intercept the expiring end following a splice, so that continued rotation of the support causes the end to be wrapped around the reel core.
