  • Patent number: 6422774
Abstract: An adhesive applicator for smoothly applying a liquid adhesive to a branch wire assembly tube before it is inserted into a main wire assembly tube of a wiring harness. The applicator applies a suitable amount of a liquid adhesive through discharge nozzles (9) immediately after a branch wire assembly tube is placed on a semi-cylindrical adhesive coating member (2). The adhesive supplied to a receiving surface (3) is applied to the branch wire assembly tube over its entire circumference by reciprocating pins (6) along engaging grooves (8) to pivot the adhesive coating member (2) along the circumferential surface of the branch wire assembly tube.

  • Patent number: 6036553
Abstract: A connector is provided with a retainer 30 that is rotatable in a housing 10 about an insertion portion 33. When the retainer 30 is rotated to its lock position, lock projections 32 provided on the insertion portion 33 lock the terminal fittings 20. Since the retainer 30 can directly lock the terminal fittings 20 in this connector, the terminal fittings 20 can be retained with a strong force. Further, since a retainer insertion hole 31 is formed in the front surface of the housing 10, it is not exposed to the outside by being covered by a mating connector. In other words, the inventive connector has advantages of both side retainer type and front retainer type connectors of prior art and retains the terminal fittings 20 with a large force while being designed to be watertight.

  • Patent number: 5929984
Abstract: A laser system is provided for precisely locating points in space relative to a reference plane. The system includes at least one laser generator capable of sweeping a plurality of mutually perpendicular laser planes and/or one laser plane and one laser beam perpendicular thereto. The system further includes a plurality of laser sensitive targets. Three laser sensitive targets are positioned to lie in the first plane swept by the laser generator. These targets then define a reference plane. The laser generator may be moved periodically and bucked into the previously established reference plane. The second laser plane or the laser beam will be perpendicular to the reference plane at each optional position of the laser generator. Thus, each second laser plane or each second laser beam will be parallel to one another. The system may further include position sensors for precisely defining distances between the parallel laser planes or parallel laser beams.
