Patent number: 6631711Abstract: A self-contained, easily foldable and reconfigurable charcoal lighting and/or grill device. In some variations, the lighting and/or grill device is arrangeable into multiple configurations: 1) in which the device has a thin profile for easy carrying and storage; 2) in which the device facilitates fuel lighting by forming an enclosure; and 3) for the combination charcoal and grill device only, in which the device has a generally U-shaped profile, with extended legs and one or more side handles for grilling foods. Another variation of the device includes an ignition enhancer housing that is suspendably attached to an existing grill. A rack is positioned above the housing, and one or more doors are used in conjunction with the existing grill sides to form an enclosure to enhance lighting of fuel. Upon lighting, the one or more doors are rearrangeable such that the grill may be used normally.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2001Date of Patent: October 14, 2003Inventor: Eric Patience

Patent number: 6168772Abstract: We have recently proposed special catalysts, Pt-supported zeolites, for the selective oxidation of carbon monoxide in reformed fuels from methanol or natural gas. They can be applied to polymer electrolyte fuel cells, of which Pt anode catalysts suffer serious poisoning by the trace amount of CO. In order to enhance the performance of the catalysts, the selective CO oxidation was examined over Pt—, Ru—, Pd—, Co—, and PtRu— supported zeolites in a large excess of H2 with the addition of a low concentration of oxygen. It was found that Pt, Ru, and PtRu supported on mordenite can oxidize CO much more selectively than a conventional Pt-supported alumina catalyst. Ru/mordenite showed the highest selectivity of approximately 100% at 200° C. with a certain flow rate of the reactant. Pt-Ru/mordenite exhibited fairly high selectivity of 90% over a wide flow rate condition even at 150° C.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 1995Date of Patent: January 2, 2001Inventor: Masahiro Watanabe

Patent number: 6150897Abstract: A Marchand balun cirucit having a pair of coupled lines of quarter wavelength for dividing and/or combining signals with the same amplitude and opposite phase with each other is improved by inserting a cancellation element between said pair of coupled lines. Said cancellation element may be a transmission line, a capacitor, or an inductor which improves amplitude difference error and phase difference error of a pair of outputs by controlling phase velocity for an even mode so that phase velocity for an even mode becomes equal to that for an odd mode. Thus, a balun circuit with wide operation band, and less error of amplitude difference and phase difference is obtained.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1998Date of Patent: November 21, 2000Assignee: Nippon Telegraph and Telephone CorporationInventors: Kenjiro Nishikawa, Ichihiko Toyoda, Tsuneo Tokumitsu

Patent number: 6144614Abstract: A semiconductor integrated circuit includes an internal clock generating circuit generating an internal clock, and a flip-flop circuit configured so that n latch circuits are cascaded via switch circuits performing switching operations in synchronism with the internal clock where n is an integer equal to or greater than 2. An initialization control circuit is provided so that it applies, after power on, an initialization signal to the flip-flop circuit whereby a first latch circuit among the n latch circuits is initialized. The initialization control circuit causes the internal clock generating circuit to generate the internal clock during a predetermined period so that the second through nth latch circuits are sequentially initialized.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 1999Date of Patent: November 7, 2000Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Tatsuya Kanda, Hiroyoshi Tomita

Patent number: 6119067Abstract: An object detecting system mounted on a conveyance such as a vehicle having a laser radar as an object detector mounted on the vehicle at a position offset from the vehicle longitudinal center line, for adjusting in a factory the radar mounting position in a software manner by utilizing a computer program. A reflective target is placed ahead of the vehicle on the line extending from the vehicle longitudinal center line at a position relatively close to the vehicle in the factory. The central axis of the transmitted beam is first aimed at the target reflector such that the axis is made equal to the direction of the target reflector, and is changed by an angle of offset such that the axis is aligned with an inherently desired direction which is parallel to the vehicle longitudinal center line.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 1999Date of Patent: September 12, 2000Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Hayato Kikuchi

Patent number: 6078202Abstract: Disclosed are a semiconductor device of which a block having a plurality of portions that operate based on a plurality of clocks can be designed and inspected easily, and a method of designing the semiconductor device. First and second clocks whose frequencies are mutually different are used to generate an enabling signal that is validated only during a short period including a transition edge of the second clock. The enabling signal and first clock are supplied to the second portion. The second portion synthesizes the enabling signal and first clock to substantially generate the second clock. Thus, the second portion is regarded as a portion that operates synchronously with the first clock.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 1998Date of Patent: June 20, 2000Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Hideaki Tomatsuri, Hiroyuki Fujiyama, Noriaki Ono, Minoru Usui

Patent number: 6062868Abstract: A sing-along data transmitting method includes the steps of providing a sing-along data center for supplying background video data and music data, and providing a plurality of sing-along data receiving terminals for receiving the background video data and music data fed from the sing-along data center. The next step is transmitting a plurality of background video data by way of a plurality of different channels, and transmitting music data of a plurality of melodies by way of at least one channel. The method further includes the step of transmitting a channel data indicating a channel through which said background video data corresponding to a selected music is being transmitted, with the channel data being transmitted together with music data. There is also provided a sing-along data transmitting/receiving system for carrying out the above sing-along data transmitting method.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1996Date of Patent: May 16, 2000Assignee: Pioneer Electronic CorporationInventor: Hiroshi Toriumi

Patent number: 6061001Abstract: The detection region to which the electromagnetic wave from a vehicle is transmitted ahead in a direction of movement of the vehicle in order to detect an obstacle such as another vehicle in front or the like, is composed of a first detection region looking slightly upward with respect to the road surface and a second detection region looking slightly downward with respect to the road surface. Received signal strengths of reflected waves in the first and second detection regions are compared with each other. When the two received signal strengths are substantially equal to each other, the vertical angle of the object detecting apparatus is judged adequate. When the received signal strength of the reflected wave in the upper-side, first detection region is larger, the angle is judged downward.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 1999Date of Patent: May 9, 2000Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Yoichi Sugimoto
