  • Patent number: 8297047
Abstract: An exhaust gas purifying apparatus for an internal combustion engine having a lean NOx catalyst in an exhaust system is provided. The lean NOx catalyst traps NOx in exhaust gases when the exhaust gases are in an oxidizing state, and discharges the trapped NOx when the exhaust gases are in an reducing state. In this apparatus, an estimated trapped NOx amount which is an estimated value of an amount of NOx trapped in the lean NOx catalyst, is calculated using a neural network. Engine operating parameters indicative of an operating condition of the engine are input, and the neural network outputs at least one control parameter which is relevant to the lean NOx catalyst. A reducing process of the NOx trapped in the lean NOx catalyst is performed according to the estimated trapped NOx amount.

  • Patent number: 8300114
Abstract: Systems and methods for operating cameras are described. An image signal received from an image sensor can be processed as a plurality of video signals representative of the image signal. An encoder may combine baseband and digital video signals in an output signal for transmission over a cable. The video signals may include substantially isochronous baseband and digital video signals. The baseband video signal can comprise a standard definition analog video signal and the digital video signal may be modulated before combining with the baseband video signal and/or transmitting wirelessly. The digital video signal may be a compressed high definition digital video signal. A decoder demodulates an upstream signal to obtain a control signal for controlling the position and orientation of the camera and content of the baseband and digital video signals.

  • Patent number: 8297166
Abstract: The foldable ramp is intended to store, carry and launch relatively large size tube-launched missiles typically on board of relatively small sized naval surface ships. Accordingly, the foldable ramp comprises a frame suitable for carrying one or more canisters for launching rockets or missiles and support elements, which are pivotably attached to the frame and which are adapted to pivotably connect to the launching platform so as to allow rotary movement of the frame with respect to the launching platform. A lifting device lifts the front end of the frame whereby the rear end of the canisters displace a horizontal distance towards the rear of the ramp as said lifting device lifts the frame. Adverse effects of the aft flame of the launched rocket or missile is securely displaced to the outside of the vehicle while foldability of the ramp enables to prevent or reduce radar and eye visibility of the launcher, particularly when mounted on a naval surface ship.
