  • Patent number: 6020036
Abstract: A guide bush (11), coming in sliding contact with a workpiece, for use in an automatic lathe is placed in a vacuum vessel (61), and after inserting an auxiliary electrode (71), which is grounded or to which a positive DC voltage is applied, in the center bore (11j) of the guide bush (11), forming the inner surface (11b) thereof, the vacuum vessel (61) is evacuated such that an initially reached pressure therein is not higher than a predetermined degree of vacuum. Then, after a DC voltage is applied to an anode (79) and an AC voltage is applied to a filament (81) while applying a DC voltage to the guide bush (11), carbon-containing gas is fed into the vacuum vessel (61), producing a plasma therein and the pressure inside the vacuum vessel (61) is controlled to attain a film-forming pressure higher than the initially reached pressure while forming a hard carbon film over the inner surface of the guide bush (11) by means of a plasma CVD process.

  • Patent number: 5968678
Abstract: In magneto-optical recording medium, on a transparent substrate of polycarbonate resin, an SiN film having the thickness of 600 to 800 .ANG. and surface roughness Rmax of at most 10 nm is formed. On the SiN film, a GdFeCo reading layer having the thickness of 800 to 1200 .ANG. with Gd content of 30 to 36 at. % and Co content of 12 to 50 at. % is formed. On the reading layer, a TbFeCo recording layer of which Co content is 10 to 16 at. % is formed. The recording layer is a perpendicular magnetization film, and the reading layer is an in-plane magnetization film. At the time of reading, the reading and recording layers are heated, and the direction of magnetization of the recording layer is transferred to the reading layer only in the prescribed heated area. Information can be read only from the transferred portion, and thus a super resolution effect is obtained. When Kerr rotation angle .theta..sub.

  • Patent number: 5754317
Abstract: A holographic stereogram which includes a plurality of element holograms and which reproduces a stereoscopic image by irradiation of coherent light, wherein each element hologram is loaded with a modulation value (pattern) corresponding to the stereoscopic image, the modulation value being a one-dimensional or two-dimensional transform coefficient obtained by one-dimensional or two-dimensional cosine transform or discrete cosine transform of the distribution of the intensity of diffraction light expressing the stereoscopic image, enabling simplification of the drive system of the display device displaying the stereoscopic image and reproduction of the original stereoscopic image much more faithfully.

  • Patent number: 5294298
Abstract: The present invention provides a spray-drying granulation apparatus having a chamber comprising (a) an upper section which is a spray-drying section for spraying a feed solution from a nozzle and drying the formed droplets with hot air and (b) a lower section which is a fluidized granulation section, in which apparatus there is used, as the nozzle for spraying a feed solution, a two-fluid pressure nozzle comprising a centrifugal pressure nozzle for spraying a feed solution and a cylindrical pipe for blowing out a high-speed gas, provided around the centrifugal pressure nozzle. This spray-drying granulation apparatus enables spraying of even a feed solution of large volume with only one nozzle. Further with the two-fluid pressure nozzle of the apparatus, there is no need of replacement of nozzle parts when the feed rate, concentration, viscosity, kind, etc.

  • Patent number: 5249659
Abstract: A viscous-fluid disc damper includes an input-side drive plate having a containing space, an output-side driven plate disposed in the containing space, and a viscous fluid medium damper mechanism arranged between both plates for absorbing torsional torque. The damper mechanism has a fluid housing provided in the peripheral portion of the drive plate and opening radially toward the center, choke projections provided on the periphery of the driven plate which project into the fluid housing, sliders slidably located in the fluid housing and fitted over the choke projection, and choke tabs formed in the fluid housing. The flow passage of the choke tab is smaller than that of the choke projection. The viscous-fluid disc damper can include a fluid storage for compensating fluid within the fluid housing, via a connecting path between the fluid storage and the fluid housing.
