Abstract: A process for fabricating an article having a rigid foam core and a resilient outer plastic shell by extruding heated thermoplastic material to form the shell, partially hardening the extruded a plastic shell, injecting a liquid foam material into the interior of the partially hardened plastic shell, and cooling the shell and the liquid foam material to fully harden the plastic shell and the foam under conditions which cause the article to have a predetermined shape and size.
Abstract: An extruded plastic decking plank for mounting to an underlying support structure, the plank having a rigid foam core, a resilient outer plastic shell, and a clamping portion for securing the plank to the support structure. The top surface of the plank can be provided with a non-slip surface. The invention also includes an attachment system for securing such decking planks to a support structure by engaging the clamping portions of the decking planks onto clamps or hold down blocks which are secured onto the support structure, and which permit relative motion between the planks and the structure in the planks' lengthwise direction to prevent stress and buckling caused by uneven expansion.
Abstract: A mailbox support post for supporting a mailbox a predetermined distance above the ground, and including a ground engaging portion, an upright portion, a mailbox support shelf extending outward from the upright portion, and a brace between the mailbox support shelf and the upright portion. The mailbox support post is fabricated of an expanded foam core within a solid plastic shell.
Abstract: A device for mounting to the steering column of a golf cart for supporting and displaying looseleaf pages, in particular for displaying golf course information. The device includes a base for supporting pages generally perpendicular to the cart's steering column. A binder is secured to the base for holding the looseleaf pages and an attachment element is provided for mounting the device to the steering column of the golf cart.
Abstract: A method for the recovery of zinc oxide from industrial waste materials of various components, including zinc, lead, iron and cadmium, comprising the steps of treating the waste material with an ammonium chloride solution maintained at an elevated temperature, separating the undissolved components from the solution, treating the solution with zinc metal to displace undesired metal ions from the solution, cooling the solution to precipitate therefrom zinc compounds, washing the precipitated zinc compounds to remove unwanted compounds such as diamino zinc dichloride, and drying the remaining zinc compound which is essentially hydrated zinc oxide, resulting in essentially pure zinc oxide.
Abstract: An apparatus for removing the skin from animal parts, such as from poultry thighs, comprises a rotary turntable for supporting the poultry thighs and for conveying them along a path in a forward direction and a pair of counter-rotating peeler rollers positioned beneath the turntable. The rotary turntable has an aperture formed therein and a vacuum means positioned adjacent the rollers for drawing a portion of the skin of the poultry part through the aperture and toward the rollers to reliably engage the skin of the poultry part in the peeler rollers.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for heating the interior surfaces of a hollow organ or orifice of the human body for the treatment of viral infections, microbial infections, and cancers, the apparatus including an insertion body 11 having a semi-rigid support tube 12 and an inflatable balloon 17. Conduits 38 and 39 connect the interior of the inflatable balloon 17 with a heating and pumping unit 31 for heating liquid and circulating liquid within the inflatable balloon to heat the outer surface of the inflatable balloon. For treating infections and cancers, the insertion body is inserted into the organ or orifice and inflated and heated to a selected temperature, e.g., 44.degree. C., and maintained at the temperature for an extended length of time, e.g., for four hours.
