  • Patent number: 3963287
Abstract: The invention relates to a storage device for housing and displaying cassettes and like articles. The storage device comprises a drum like construction formed by two spaced circular members interconnected around their periphery and provided with an inwardly directed peripheral flange. The spaced side members each have a central aperture for rotatably supporting an inner assembly formed by two ring-like members interconnected by flat connecting elements. The ring-like members each have an inwardly directed annular flange for supporting the inner edges of cassettes positioned between the two stationary space members and which are inserted through slots at suitable positions in the flanges. The cassettes are held spaced apart by a plurality of pins or projections around the inner periphery of the ring-like members.Storage facilities may also be provided for cassettes within the central portion of the inner rotatably assembly.

  • Patent number: 3963053
Abstract: The invention relates to a pressure vessel comprising a container of rigid material having a cylindrical portion defining an open mouth which is formed by reversely bending inwardly the end of said cylindrical portion to form a cylindrical flange portion. The curved junction between the flange portion and the cylindrical container portion is a semi-circle, the flange portion extending parallel to the cylindrical container portion beyond a diametrical line between the ends of the semi-circular junction. A closure assembly comprising a cylindrical plug having a reduced diameter sleeve defining an annular shoulder is positioned in said container mouth, with said shoulder engaging the rim of said cylindrical flange, the latter being restrained from transverse inward movement by abutment against said sleeve.

  • Patent number: 3962395
Abstract: A method is provided of producing a moulding having a configuration corresponding to the surface configuration of a model. The method comprises the steps of bringing a gas-tight evacuatable container having at least one flexible wall portion in a position relative the configuration of the model such that the wall portion can be deformed to the contours of the model without cracking or creasing. A quantity of granular material is then poured into the container to deform the flexible wall portion to the shape of the model by pressure, whereafter at least a partial vacuum is created in the container to cause the granules to form a solid, persistent mass conforming to the shape of the model. The model is then removed while maintaining the condition of at least partial vacuum in the container.

  • Patent number: 3961646
Abstract: A pressure accumulator having a hollow cylindrical housing which is inserted into the mouth of a cylindrical cavity in the body of a hydraulically operated apparatus or machine. The inner end of the cavity has a threaded recess adapted to receive the correspondingly threaded end of the housing. The interior of the accumulator housing mounts a deformable bladder in which is positioned an axially extending support member in the shape of a dumbell or hour glass, one end of which is screwed into the mouth of the housing and the other end of which is normally spaced from the closed end of the bladder, the latter having an axially mounted valve member adapted to close the axial oil port of the housing which is aligned with a fluid port in the threaded recess into which the end of the housing is screwed. The support member is designed to prevent twisting and folding over of the bladder when it is deformed which would result in cracking of the bladder at the region of the folds and failure thereof.

Abstract: This invention relates to a pressure vessel for gas and oil under pressure comprising a container of rigid material having a cylindrical body portion defining a mouth at one end and closed at its other end, said closed end having an axial port. An annular supporting member of resilient sheet metal has a cylindrical upper portion of diameter just slightly less than that of the mouth portion of the container so that it may readily fit therein. An annular lower portion depends from said upper portion and the rim of a bladder is bonded to said lower portion, with a portion of the bladder material on the outer surface of said annular lower portion abutting and being compressed against the inner wall surface of the container to define an oil seal.

  • Patent number: 3946912
Abstract: The invention relates to a safety cap for a device for dispensing a liquefied gas propellent including one or more active ingredients such as is used for insecticides or exterminating purposes. More particularly, the device, which is commonly known as an "Aerosol Bomb" comprises a container of conventional type having a discharge nozzle which when pressed will activate a valve to release the contents of the container as a spray. The container has an annular flange at its upper end and the cap, according to the invention, has a cylindrical side wall with means at its lower edge to interengage with the annular flange to retain the cap in position yet permit relative longitudinal movement of the cap with respect to the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 3947003
Abstract: This invention relates to a hydropneumatic spring device comprising an outer cylindrical casing and an inner cylindrical casing both having closure means at each end. The inner cylindrical casing is positioned in said outer casing and is transversely spaced therefrom to define an elongated annular chamber. A piston slidably mounted in said inner casing has a piston rod extending axially from one end thereof through an axial bore in one of said closure means. A resilient sleeve encompassing the inner casing is positioned in the annular chamber extending substantially the length thereof. The ends of the sleeve are retained in fixed position so that a variable volume gas chamber is defined between the outer casing and the sleeve and a variable volume liquid chamber is defined between the inner casing and the sleeve. The gas chamber is adapted to be charged with gas under pressure and the portion of the inner casing between the piston and the other closure means is adapted to be charged with liquid.

  • Patent number: 3946759
Abstract: This invention relates to a pressure vessel and more particularly to a pressure accumulator of the type including a rigid container having a pair of ports at its respective ends with a deformable partition or bladder therein having a mouth at one end affixed to one of said ports, said bladder separating two fluids such as gas or liquid under pressure in said container. The bladder is of the type formed from two separate sections, each substantially cup-shaped, so that when the rims of the sections are joined, a closed container will be formed. As the bladder expands t o force liquid from the other port of the container, stress will be imparted to the wall of the bladder as a result of the stretching thereof, and such bladder wall is conformed to minimize the stress that would otherwise be imparted to the junction between the two sections of the bladder.

  • Patent number: 3945407
Abstract: This method and the apparatus for carrying out same are characterised essentially in that, during the weaving of the tape of the element, two separate filaments are inserted into the texture for constituting the fastening or coupling members propers by engaging by turns one and the other filaments between the warp yarns, at spaced intervals, to constitute at each point of insertion a transverse loop wound in one direction for one filament and in the opposite directions for the other filament, and meanwhile these filaments are disposed in the longitudinal direction on the side opposite to the coupling members proper, whereby these filaments constitute two variable-pitch helices of which the loops wound in opposite directions are imbricated, every other loop belonging to the same helix.

  • Patent number: 3937780
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of forming a locking ring for the closure plug of a pressure vessel for storing fluid under pressure and particularly of the type having a deformable partition such as a bladder therein. The closure plug has a flanged inner end of diameter slightly less than the diameter of the port of the pressure vessel into which it is to be inserted and the locking ring normally is of greater diameter than said port and is foldable for insertion through said port so that it may then be restored to its original shape to encompass the closure plug and restrain outward movement thereof from such port.

  • Patent number: 3933532
Abstract: The present method makes it possible to expose or make visible surface defects on or in the surface of steel blanks by heating the blanks to a temperature below the hot working temperature of the particular type of steel and thereafter rapidly descaling the blanks by means of high pressure water which contacts the steel for a limited time so as to avoid a substantial chilling or quenching. After such descaling the blanks are cooled at a controlled rate to thereby produce an oxidation film on the descaled surface which film makes the defects visible.
