  • Patent number: 6397579
Abstract: A cyclic internal combustion engine having at least one working piston and cylinder arrangement which includes separate compression, combustion, and expansion chambers that perform respective compression combustion and expansion cycles. The compression cycle is advanced up to 180° in relation to the expansion cycle, so as to extend the combustion cycle during the exhaust stroke to reduce the formation in the combustion cycle of polluting gases.

  • Patent number: 6311077
Abstract: A combined cosmetics compact and cellular radiotelephone device having a casing which includes the working components of a radiotelephone and a mirror. One of the working components of the radiotelephone is a display. The display operates in a first mode as the mirror. The display can include an apparatus for projecting information associated with the operation of the radiotelephone on the mirror when the display is operated in a second mode. The casing can include a first housing member and second housing member. The housing members and the working components of the radiotelephone form a cellular flip-radiotelephone. At least one receptacle for storing cosmetics can be provided in the casing. The battery of the device can be used for selectively operative for heating the receptacle. A cosmetics applicator can also be provided in the casing.

  • Patent number: 6248547
Abstract: A cocktail reagent preparation for the rapid production of serum contains thrombin, snake venom, and protamine sulfate. The preparation employs very small quantities of clot promoting substances which behave in a synergistic manner such that rapid clotting of highly heparinized blood is achieved without altering the chemical analysis of the blood enzymes, proteins, sugars, or electrolytes. Thus, clinicians who rely upon the results of such tests can more closely monitor organ and tissue function and adjust patient therapies accordingly.

  • Patent number: 5955771
Abstract: A hermetically sealed sensor device having a glass member defining a mounting surface and base surface, the glass member including one or more pin apertures extending through the glass member from the mounting surface to the base surface. A metallic pin is disposed in each of the pin apertures, each pin having a portion extending above the mounting surface. The sensor device also includes a semiconductor sensor chip including a semiconductor device and a cover hermetically bonded and sealed to a surface of the semiconductor device, the cover protecting the semiconductor device from the external environment. The is chip hermetically bonded and sealed to the mounting surface of glass member. The semiconductor device has one or more contacts disposed on the surface thereof, for making electrical contact thereto, the cover having one or more contact apertures extending therethrough which exposes a portion of the contacts.
