  • Patent number: 4242856
Abstract: A fruit harvesting assembly of the type including an elongated handle used to cut and collect fruit hanging from trees at a substantial distance above ground. A support frame comprises a base portion attached to the handle means and a head portion having a cutting blade secured thereto. A base portion and head portion are specifically aligned substantially colinear to the longitudinal axis of the handle means wherein the cutting blade and support arms of the support frame are arranged in an angular declining relation to this linear alignment thereby allowing simultaneous positioning of the cutting blade transverse or substantially perpendicular to the stem of the fruit being cut and the support arm in an out of the way location so as to provide clear viewing of engagement of the cutting blade and the fruit being cut.

  • Patent number: 4227728
Abstract: A portable, auxiliary lock assembly of the type used to secure the conventional or permanently installed lock bolt in its locked position thereby preventing inadvertent admittance through the use of a key or through unauthorized manipulation of the lock mechanism itself. A pair of clamp arms are spaced between the door frame and the edge of the door containing the locking assembly and disposed into firm grasping engagement with the portions of the lock bolt when it is in its locked position. Movement of the lock bolt into its unlocked position is thereby prevented until such bolt is released by the clamp arms of the auxiliary lock assembly.

  • Patent number: 4225247
Abstract: A mixing and agitating device specifically designed to mix a dry solid particle material such as cement with a liquid such as water in a high energy manner so as to provide a predetermined degree of hydration above that normally required in the formation of concrete or like cementitious material. A casing defining a container has on the interior thereof a plurality of agitating assemblies rotatably connected within the container and specifically structured and configured to provide a direction of material flow which is concurrently rotational about the axis of rotation of the agitating assemblies as well as along the substantial length of the container between the various spaced apart agitating assemblies so as to define a shear flow of the material resulting in a substantially constant and consistent viscosity and a predetermined degree of hydration, of the initially dry solid particles.

  • Patent number: 4225357
Abstract: A pervious concrete product and method of formation, distribution and placing of the same which includes the pre-mixing of a predetermined quantity of cement and water, utilizing what may be defined as high energy techniques to accomplish a predetermined degree of hydration of the cement particles prior to the mixing of the resulting cementitious material batch with aggregate having a predetermined particle size so as to accomplish voids of a sufficient degree in the overall resulting concrete product. The concrete product is transported by suitable means which are mounted on and perform as part of a distributing, placing and finishing unit, developed to provide a uniform, durable and substantially planer surface to the final use of the concrete product.

  • Patent number: 4223190
Abstract: The present invention comprises a Mercury Float Switch that is, a float operable by variations in the water level in the bilge of a boat to control the operation of a bilge pump or control the operation of a sump pump, both operable when the water level in the bilge or sump is above normal. The present float switch comprises a mercury containing tube having two switch contacts extending into one end of the tube which when bridged by the mercury in the tube will cause operation of a bilge pump or a sump pump or the operation of a visible or audible signal. The mercury tube is embedded in a polyurethane foam float which holds it firmly in position and protects it and the contacts from water seepage and corrosion. The tube is bent intermediate its ends at an angle so that the mercury will not be moved to bridge the switch contacts during normal vibration of the tube under normal variance of the water level in the bilge or sump.
