  • Patent number: 6083326
Abstract: A grain-oriented electromagnetic steel sheet having a multiplicity of fine grains having a diameter of about 3 mm or less on the surface of the steel sheet, in a numerical ratio of about 65% or more and of about 98% or less relative to the constituting grains that penetrate the sheet along the direction parallel to its thickness, and a method for producing the same. The fine grains are artificially created and regularly disposed with a random orientation in the steel sheet, and contribute to decreasing the strain susceptibility of the steel. More preferably, a treatment for finely dividing magnetic domains is applied on the surface of the steel sheet. Transformers based upon the steel sheet have excellent magnetic characteristics (iron loss and magnetic flux density) together with strain resistance, and the steel sheet has good practical device characteristics (building factor) after being assembled into a transformer.

  • Patent number: 6067932
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for dosing the components of a mixed fodder for feeding cattle. The straw feed is delivered onto a horizontal conveyor (6) for weighing its amount thereon. The flour is metered by means of metering mechanisms (7, M1-M4) controlled by a calculator (8a), which dose amounts of flour proportioned as desired to the amount of straw feed directly within the straw feed concurrently with the weighing thereof. The weighing result of a weighed component is reduced in real time on the basis of dosages received from the calculator (8a).

  • Patent number: 6068112
Abstract: A reduced friction conveyer chain is used for conveying aluminum cans, glass bottles, PET bottles and other objects in a conveyer chain system where such objects are produced continuously. The conveyer chain is especially useful in the system where the objects being conveyed are slid on the surface of the chain and relatively thereto. Since the kinetic friction coefficient of the outer surfaces of the links, which constitute the conveyer chain and on which the objects to be conveyed are put, is reduced, the slidability of the links is improved, and the bottom surfaces of the objects being conveyed are prevented from being scratched.

  • Patent number: 6061300
Abstract: A non-destructive method of measuring physical characteristics of a medium, such as uncemented sediment, sandstone, or limestone. A pseudo-random code is generated and is used to generate a pseudo-random acoustic signal. This signal is transmitted into the medium to be measured through the use of a transducer, such as a piezoelectric element, and is received by a plurality of hydrophones. The received signal is then processed to obtain an image of its velocity and attenuation. A universal geoacoustic model of the medium for a given set of measured data is determined, and the model is solved to obtain a pair of permeability-porosity results for the medium. The one of this pair of permeability-porosity results which is correctly indicative of the physical characteristics of the medium is then determined.
