  • Patent number: 4423306
Abstract: Welding cable and equipment wherein welding cable is color-coded and comprises respective composite cables that individually have as components a power cable and, attached thereto, a control cable. Color coding may be provided by paint, dye or other means at cable areas remote from natural wear areas. Preferably at least one of the cable elements of the composite welding cable will be provided with a durable rubber or other sheath that can accommodate heavy wear areas and abrasive conditions. Welding equipment is provided such that a maze of composite welding cables can be individually identified and manipulated, used and routed accordingly.

  • Patent number: 4417327
Abstract: A clocked structured logic array functions in a dynamic, rather than static, mode of operation. The column output conductors and row conductors of the array are precharged to a predetermined voltage level at the beginning of a clock cycle. At the termination of a first phase of the clock cycle, the column conductors are selectively discharged in accordance with information stored in column memory elements. Upon termination of a second phase of the clock cycle, the row conductors are selectively discharged in accordance with a predetermined program, and responsive to the states of the column output conductors. The states of the row conductors are selectively transmitted to the column input conductors, and during a third phase of the clock cycle the information related to the states of the input conductors is transmitted to the memory elements.

  • Patent number: 4407280
Abstract: A disposable hood of unitary one-piece construction for maintaining a desired gas atmosphere about the head of a patient incorporates a novel attachment means for connecting a flexible conduit or hose to the hood. The hood itself is a generally bubble-shaped chamber molded of a transparent material with the top and sidewalls being joined in arcuate contours so that there are no sharp corners. Flat extension means extend from the bottom of the hood so as to lie flatwise on the bed, and an arcuate ballast member is adapted to fit closely around the hood and on the flat extension means to hold the hood in position on the bed.

  • Patent number: 4402152
Abstract: A bolt action firearm incorporating a bolt head member attached to the head end of the bolt, with an extractor ring secured between the end of the bolt and the bolt head such that the extractor ring firmly retains the extractor within a recessed slot in the bolt head. The bolt head member is adapted to engage a locking ring which is, in turn, securely held in place in the receiver by the barrel.

  • Patent number: 4398363
Abstract: Earth moving, ground leveling and land planing apparatus having a substantially rectangular frame which is pivotally attached at the back end thereof to a support member containing ground engaging wheels. A cutting blade is disposed laterally between the bottom sides of the frame and a bucket having an open front end is pivotally mounted at its lower forward edge to the frame adjacent the blade for swinging between a generally horizontal earth loading position and an upwardly tilting unloading position. An apron comprising a swingable gate is provided to form an operable front wall for the bucket. Means are provided for swinging the apron about a pivot axis which is transverse of the frame, at a vertical distance above the bottom of the frame equal to at least about one-half the vertical depth of the bucket and displaced forward of the blade.

  • Patent number: 4391058
Abstract: A bolt action firearm having novel trigger and firing mechanism associated with the bolt. A firing pin is located in a bore extending from the head end of the bolt a distance slightly greater than the length of the firing pin. A cammed notch extending from the longitudinal side of the bolt, intersects the inward end of the first bore. A trigger mechanism is provided having a spring-loaded puncher member adapted to slide longitudinally upward in the cammed notch to strike the inner end of the firing pin. Upon movement of the bolt in ejecting a spent casing from the firearm, the cammed notch forces the puncher downward and the trigger mechanism engages the puncher holding it in its spring-loaded position so that the firearm is ready to be fired again.

  • Patent number: 4390113
Abstract: A container made of flexible material having a depending container engaging sidewall and a raised top surface. The depending container engaging sidewall is formed with an inner flange having notches spaced around it length and a resilient outer flange with intermittent elongate bead means aligned with the notches of the inner flange and grooves in a shoulder interconnecting the flanges to engage a rolled top of a container. The intermittent bead means hold the lid firmly to the container and the notches and grooves permit steam accumulating in the container to be vented past ends of the bead means and to atmosphere as directed by the outer flange.

  • Patent number: 4388769
Abstract: Earth moving, ground leveling and land planing apparatus having a substantially rectangular frame which is pivotally attached at the back end thereof to a support member containing ground engaging wheels. A cutting blade is disposed laterally between the bottom sides of the frame, and a bucket having an open front end is provided with the forward edge of the floor of the bucket being mounted to the frame adjacent to the trailing edge of said blade. A blade support member extends from the back end to the forward end of the frame substantially along the longitudinal axis of the frame. A downwardly extending projection from the blade support member is integrally attached as by welding to the cutting blade at a position substantially intermediate the cutting width of the blade.

  • Patent number: 4387016
Abstract: A process for separating and recovering bituminous material from tar sand and other viscous petroleum deposits, either in-situ or after mining the deposits. The process may also apply to heavy oil wells and to secondary and tertiary recovery of oil from wells. The bituminous-containing matter is contacted within a confined space with the vapors of a halogenated, organic solvent, whereby the bituminous material separates from the other matter. The bituminous material accumulates at the bottom of the confined space and is recovered therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4385464
Abstract: The action and barrel of a rifle are mounted to the stock so that the barrel is closely spaced from the front end grip portion of the stock. A rigid insert is fit into an opening through the stock and securely attached to the stock. The action is securely attached to the insert so that the barrel extends along the grip end portion of the stock without making actual contact with the stock. The rifle has greatly improved accuracy inasmuch as the barrel is not subjected to stress and strain due to atmospheric conditions affecting the portion of the stock which cradles the barrel of the rifle.

  • Patent number: 4384017
Abstract: A wallpaper preparation board made of low cost rigid sheet material such as cardboard, paperboard, or thin sheets of wood, metal, or plastic, etc., is formed from a plurality of substantially flat panels of the sheet material which are hingedly attached end-to-end to form an elongate board which can be folded in accordion style into a compact unit. A first elongate opening is provided at one end of the board, with the opening being adapted to receive a roll of wallpaper longitudinally therein. A second elongate opening or slit is provided adjacent to the first opening, whereby the paper from the roll of wallpaper is directed under the portion of the board positioned between the two elongate openings and upwardly through the second elongate opening to be pulled along the length of the board. A cutting guide extends across the board next to the second elongate opening to aid in cutting lengths of wallpaper which are withdrawn from the roll.
