  • Patent number: 8000345
Abstract: In one aspect a method for remotely managing a non-compliant Internet Gateway Device (IGD) residing in a Local Area Network (LAN) is provided. The method includes providing a proxy agent that resides on a computer in the LAN. The proxy agent receives from a Wide Area Network (WAN) configuration device a Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) WAN Management Protocol (CWMP) request message, converts the request message to a protocol that is used by the IGD and communicates the converted request message upstream toward the IGD. The proxy agent receives a response from the IGD, converts the response from a first protocol to the CWMP, and sends the converted response upstream toward the WAN configuration device.

  • Patent number: 8001169
Abstract: A spread spectrum method for a digital input signal (x(n)), comprising the following steps: coefficients of a reversible digital periodical linear filter are selected in such a way that the spectrum of the input signal (x(n)) is spread in order to occupy a spread frequency band (B) with the exception of at least one eliminated frequency sub-band (B?), included in a spread frequency band, and the input signal is processed via the digital periodical linear filter in such a way as to obtain a spread spectrum output signal (y(n)).

  • Patent number: 7992408
Abstract: A compressor has a housing. A crank is carried by the housing for rotation about a crank axis. A cylinder is defined within the housing and has a proximal portion and a distal portion. The distal portion is smaller in transverse cross-sectional area than is the proximal portion. A piston is held within the housing for reciprocal movement at least partially within the cylinder. The piston also has a distal portion smaller in transverse cross-sectional area than a proximal portion. A connecting rod is pivotally coupled to the crank for relative rotation about a proximal axis and to the piston for relative rotation about a distal axis. A first compression chamber exists in the cylinder distal portion beyond the end of the piston. A second compression chamber exists in the cylinder proximal portion beyond a piston shoulder. The first and second compression chambers are non-series and non-parallel.

  • Patent number: 7992995
Abstract: Spectacles include an optical or solar façade connected to two sidepieces which are each connected to the façade by a shaft which is substantially perpendicular to the façade and which is used to rotate each sidepiece about itself between a use position and a storage position in front of the façade having a radius of curvature substantially equal to that of the sidepiece. The sidepiece is divided into two portions, namely a first portion solidly connected to the central rotational shaft and a second portion connected to the first by an intermediate translational movement device disposed between the two portions and gradually engaging the second portion during the rotation of the first and consequently the second so as to subject the latter to two combined movements, one rotational and the other linear, for the automatic and simultaneous lengthening of the sidepiece as it is rotated to the use position and the shortening of the sidepiece as it is rotated to the storage position.
