Abstract: A system for optimizing cooling air supply pressure includes a high pressure fluid source which receives bleed air from the exit of a high pressure compressor and a nozzle and ejector assembly for supplying fluid to a point of use at a pressure sufficient to maintain a required cooling airflow and backflow margin at the point of use, and for reducing leakage of the cooling fluid between the high pressure source and the point of use.
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a system capable of preventing an increase in load even if the amount of data increases. Upon receipt of a retrieval request, a main control part specifies, from a first customer table, row numbers adapted to the retrieval request. Then the main control part determines the range of data to be retrieved in a second customer table according to predetermined computational logic from the row numbers specified, the number of rows capable of being recorded in the first customer table for each customer, and the number of rows capable of being recorded in the second customer table for each customer.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a seal assembly for use in a rotary machine. The seal assembly comprises a first member and a seal carrier mounted to the first member by a mounting member, a second member spaced from the first member and a seal running member positioned on a second member, and a hydraulic seal for preventing gas leakage from a high pressure source to a low pressure compartment through the mounting member.
Abstract: After a metal member of an alloy containing copper and nickel is arranged on at least one side of a ceramic substrate, the metal member and the ceramic substrate are heated in an atmosphere of an inert gas or in vacuo at a temperature between solidus and liquidus lines of the alloy to bond the metal member directly to the ceramic substrate.
Abstract: In a method for producing an electronic part mounting substrate wherein a heat sinking metal base plate 12 is bonded to one side of a ceramic substrate 10, and one side of a circuit forming metal plate 14 is bonded to the other side thereof, an electronic part 16 being mounted on the other side of the circuit forming metal plate 14, the ceramic substrate 10 and the electronic part 16 are arranged in a mold so that the ceramic substrate 10 is spaced from the electronic part 16, and then, a molten metal is injected into the mold so that the molten metal contacts both sides of the ceramic substrate 10 and the electronic part 16.

Abstract: A DC-DC converter is provided which comprises an inductance element 10 having a plurality of in-phase windings NB, NA wound around a common magnetic core and connected to a load 5; a normal power source 16 for generating a reference voltage; a comparator 18 for comparing a voltage produced across winding NA with reference voltage VR of normal power souce 16 to produce an error signal. As a same electric current IO flows through the windings NB, NA of inductance element 10 in the opposite directions to each other to produce in magnetic core of inductance element 10 opposed magnetic fluxes which countervail each other and any kind of noise such as ripple and spike noises causing voltage fluctuation.
Abstract: After a tolerance of width B during the mounting of a photoelectric transfer element 8 is previously set, a holder 3 is formed so that a dimensional error A on the end portion of the holder 3 on the side of the photoelectric transfer element 8 in directions parallel to an optical axis 4 satisfies a condition of A<B with respect to the tolerance of width B, and then, a substrate 9 on which the photoelectric transfer element 8 is mounted is caused to contact the end face of the holder 3 on the side of the photoelectric transfer element 8 to form an optical module 1.
Abstract: The invention proposes a cast iron alloy for cast iron products which are highly thermally stable, the alloy containing, as nonferrous constituents, at least the elements C, Si, Mo, Al and, as admixtures, Ni, Mg and/or S, and the C content being less than 2.9% by weight. The alloy is used, for example, to produce exhaust manifolds or turbocharger casings.
Abstract: An injection molded resin gear 1 has a rim 6 having teeth 7 on its outer periphery, a hub 4 for receiving therein a shaft, and a web 6 connecting the rim 6 to the hub 4. The thickness (t1) of the bottom 15 of the rim 6 is smaller than the thickness (t2) of the web 5. On the side faces 8 and 8 of the web 5, annular circumferential ribs 10, 11 and 12 protruding concentrically with the rim 6 and hub 4 are formed. The relationship between the thickness (t1) of the bottom 15 of the rim 6, the thickness (t2) of the web 5 and the thickness (t3) of the circumferential rib 12 is t1?t3<t2.

Abstract: There are provided a method for producing a fine zirconium oxide powder which has a narrower particle size distribution than that of conventional zirconium oxide powders and which is capable of lowering the starting temperature in the sintering reaction of a reactant to which the fine zirconium oxide powder is added. When a hydrated zirconium is calcined to be dispersed in a solvent with a dispersing agent, an alcohol (e.g., IPA or t-butanol) having a branched chain structure, not a straight chain structure, is used as the solvent, and a dicarboxylic acid (e.g., maleic acid or oxalic acid) having two carboxyl groups in its molecule is used as the dispersing agent. Thus, a fine zirconium oxide powder having a narrow particle size distribution and a small particle size at 90 vol % is obtained.
