  • Patent number: 4619635
Abstract: A dunnage converter mechanism for producing relatively low density pad-like cushioning dunnage product from flexible sheet-like stock material in roll form. The converter includes means for pulling the sheet-like stock material from a supply roll thereof into the mechanism while causing inward rolling of the lateral edges of the sheet-like stock material, resulting in a pad-like cushioning product emitted from the machine, with the product having lateral relatively resilient pillow-like portions and a central connecting section holding the pillow-like portions together in generally side-by-side attached relation.

  • Patent number: 4604770
Abstract: A selectively pivotal hinge including first and second hinge elements pivotally connected together about a pivot point. The inner portion of the first hinge element is formed into a circular dial disk having a plurality of spaced transverse peripheral apertures adjacent its periphery and having a transverse central aperture at the hinge pivot point. A stem is slidably disposed in the central aperture. A biasing element in the form of a coiled spring contacts the first hinge element and the stem to bias the stem toward the disk. The second hinge element has an abutment which projects toward the hinge pivot point and is disposed below the disk. Two radial dial arms are rotatably secured to the stem at one longitudinal point thereon for circumferential rotation on the stem. The arms extend radially outwardly over the disk peripheral apertures.

  • Patent number: 4591433
Abstract: A centrifugal filter separator system operable to separate from oil under pressure solid contaminants, by depositing them on the internal wall of a rotating drum, powered by reaction jet nozzles, while also separating water from oil and extracting it from the rotating drum through a water extraction circuit. A water-oil mixture from the water extraction circuit is passed through a pressurized gravity type separator, from which the separated oil is returned, on a continuous basis, back to the centrifugal filter separator system, while the quantity of the water retained in the gravity type separator is controlled by a water ejecting automatic control, responsive to the position of the water-oil miniscus, or to the position of the layer of water-oil emulsion separating water and oil within the separator.

  • Patent number: 4586777
Abstract: An integral electrical switch adapter for mechanically and electrically connecting a battery to a switch module without wires or soldered connections. The adapter includes a generally planar base having a first pair of flexible upstanding spaced attachment arms at the sides of the base for detachably securing the adapter to an associated electrical switch speed control module. The base also has a second pair of flexible downwardly extending spaced electrically conducting attachment arms at the sides of the base for electrically and mechanically securing the adapter to leads on an associated battery in detachable relationship therewith. The base also has a pair of upstanding elongated electrical switch bayonnet-type prong connectors on the front of the base and electrically connected, respectively, to the second pair of attachment arms for detachable electrical connection to associated leads on the module, thereby mechanically and electrically connecting the battery to the module.

  • Patent number: 4579708
Abstract: A method of forming a resinous embossing plate adapted for use in an embossing and diecutting press for embossing a design onto paper greeting cards. The method comprises providing a line sketch of a design, making a photographic negative of the line sketch, and using the negative to apply the line sketch to both sides of a thin sheet of soft embossable material. Manual indenting of the design into the embossable sheet to provide a female matrix on one side of the embossable sheet. The embossed sheet is then reversed, so that the male portion of the matrix design faces upwardly, and disposed in a mold enclosure. Liquid plastic and fibrous reinforcing material is added to form a relatively low cost embossing plate. Plastic negative of the embossing plate is used in the press in conjunction with the embossing plate, for embossing the design onto the paper greeting card stock.
