Abstract: Emergency remote control communications systems and methods provide remote access to, activation of, deactivation of, monitoring of, communications with, and/or otherwise management of a Voice-Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communications device (and/or another peripheral communications device) in response to an emergency communication originating from the VoIP communications device. An emergency remote control communications software product detects an emergency communications signal, and, in response, generates an emergency remote control communications signal for communication to the VoIP communications device via a communications network.
Abstract: A system and method for providing an indication of a telephone voicemail message over a computer network is provided. A table of updated voicemail subscriber message information is generated that includes voicemail subscriber identifier information and voice mailbox message status for each respective subscriber. Web-based requests are received from subscribers for voice mailbox status information. For each request from a subscriber, subscriber-specific data is retrieved from the table and an Internet web page incorporating the retrieved information is provided. A web page is then generated for a subscriber and downloaded over the subscriber's web browser to provide an updated voice mailbox message status. An additional embodiment is described in which a cache in the router is utilized to store updates of the voice mailbox message status.
Abstract: A method and system for notifying a non-published customer of a telephone network the number and possibly the identity of callers who have been attempting to obtain their non-published number from directory assistance. When a calling party calls for directory assistance, it is determined whether the telephone number sought is a non-published. If so, the call is forwarded to a service package application on a service node where at least a telephone number, and preferably also the name, of the calling party is obtained. A notification call is then placed to the non-published customer and the customer is provided with at least the telephone number and possibly the name of the calling party.
Abstract: A system and method for providing customized announcements to callers based on the called party telephone number and the calling party telephone number. The system comprises a server system and a messaging system. The server system detects that a customized announcement is to be delivered and the messaging system delivers the announcement to the caller. The customized announcements may be provided in conjunction with voicemail systems or other services for processing calls when a called party is not available. In a preferred embodiment the customized announcements are provided via a service node in an advanced intelligent network.
