    Abstract: The present invention is directed to the selective provision of interference canceled signal streams to demodulating fingers in a communication receiver. According to the present invention, potential interferer signal paths are identified. Signal streams having one or more potential interferer signals removed or canceled are created, and a correlation is performed to determine whether the strength of a desired signal path increased as a result. If the correlation indicates that the strength of a desired signal path was increased by the signal cancellation, the interference canceled signal stream is provided to the demodulation finger assigned to track the desired signal path. If the correlation determines that the strength of the desired signal path did not increase as a result of performing interference cancellation, the raw or a different interference canceled signal stream is provided to the demodulation finger.

    Abstract: A disk drive having a translatable ramp is disclosed. The disk drive includes a head gimbal assembly having a proximate end that is attached to an actuator, and a distal end that includes a lift tab. The ramp includes a lift tab supporting surface located as close to a pivot axis of the actuator as is the lift tab. The ramp also includes a ramp guiding surface that is in contact with a mating surface of the disk drive base. A fastener selectively allows or prevents relative translation between the ramp and the disk drive base. The aforementioned contact constrains the relative translation so that the relative translation changes the distance between the lift tab supporting surface and the disk axis of rotation more than the relative translation changes the distance between the lift tab supporting surface and the actuator pivot axis.

    Abstract: A method for finding an error in a computer program is disclosed. A sequence of machine instructions performed by a processor is recorded as trace data. A mapping file is accessed. A source code instruction is translated into a machine code instruction according to a mapping found in the mapping file. Further, at least a portion of the trace data is searched through until the machine code instruction is found. In addition, a first execution time of the machine code instruction is determined by reviewing the trace data in a first vicinity that an address of the machine code instruction is located. Further, a second execution time of the next machine code instruction is determined by reviewing the trace data in a second vicinity that an address of the next machine code instruction is located. Accordingly, performance data is calculated by subtracting the first execution time from the second execution time. The performance data is displayed.

The arresting portion is not in the catch path with the latch in the open position, and not in the catch path with the latch in the defeat position. A crash stop portion contacts the actuator with the latch in the closed position and with the actuator in a stop position. The crash stop portion does not contact the actuator with the latch in the defeat position. Also provided is a method of reworking a disk drive having the latch.
