  • Patent number: 5619477
Abstract: A clock has at least one display unit for the real time, at least one input unit for at least one adjustable set-time, if necessary linked to a date, that can be stored in a memory and that triggers a process when it is attained, as well as at least one display unit for the set-time(s). The input unit has at least three main input means. Each main input means allows a moment in time located in the future with respect to the time presently displayed in the set-time display unit to be reached, starting from the real time or from an adjusted set-time that has been programmed immediately beforehand with the same or another main input means. Said future moment in time represents an integral multiple or an integral fraction of an hour and/or the beginning of an explicitly named set period in time adapted to our natural time perception conditioned by culture and tradition.

  • Patent number: 5594544
Abstract: A flow type particle image analyzing method and apparatus in which high-speed and high-precision image analysis can be achieved with a simple configuration are realized. A flow chamber is structured so that the dimension of the sample fluid in a direction substantially orthogonal to the direction of the light beam remains substantially constant in a direction of flow in an imaging zone. Furthermore, when particles have small diameters, a power for imaging is set to a fixed high value. When particles have large diameters, the thickness of a sample fluid is increased in order to provide a sufficient number of sample particles. Accordingly, no switching operation of an optical systems is required.

  • Patent number: 5586347
Abstract: A mattress having an integral air system responding to a load pressure. Included are a pump body (1), an air reservoir (2), air pipes (7), one-way valves (3), a manually adjustable pressure regulating valve (5) provided with a scale (6) and an insulated air cell (4). The pressure is maintained in air cell (4) when air is being squeezed from pump bodies (1) and pushed into the unpressurized reservoir (2) by way of the one-way valves (3) when a user of the mattress creates a zone-wise load pressure. The compressed air in reservoir (2) remains as a reserve therein and equalizes the in air cell (4) dropping pressure having been lost due to diffusion. The equalization is controlled by a need adjustable pressure regulating valve (5) having an adjusting knob (15) and a scale (6) thereon. The thus manufactured mattresses are adjustable in their support capabilities from soft to hard. The mattress can thereby be matched to the needs of a user.

  • Patent number: 5580420
Abstract: A microwave penetrating window and a cavity which are substantially equal in diameter to a plasma generating chamber are successively connected to the plasma generating chamber and microwaves are introduced via the cavity into the plasma generating chamber. A processing gas in the plasma generating chamber is converted into a plasma by means of the microwaves introduced into the plasma generating chamber and the microwaves in specific modes are resonated in between a microwave reflective interface with the plasma generated in the plasma generating chamber and the reflective edge face of the cavity. The microwaves in the specific modes are thus formed in the cavity and the energy of the microwaves in the specific modes is increased by resonance. The boosted energy is added to the plasma and the plasma is densified accordingly. Moreover, a plasma excellent in uniformity and stability can be generated by resonating the microwaves in the specific modes in the presence of a uniform electromagnetic field.

  • Patent number: 5552901
Abstract: A facsimile server system which can be utilized similarly to a stand-alone FAX. A remote FAX includes a scanner, a printer and a FAX communication unit. A client delivers document data to a FAX server, and makes a request for FAX transmission/printing. The FAX server expands the document data requested to be transmitted, into image data, and it transfers the image data to the appropriate remote FAX and gives a command for the FAX transmission/printing. When instructed to perform FAX transmission directly by a user, the remote FAX accepts the image of a handwritten document, and it subsequently delivers the image data of the document to the FAX server and makes a request for the FAX transmission. Besides, when the remote FAX has been commanded to scan image data or has received image data as FAX reception, it delivers the scanned image data or the received image data to the FAX server. Then, the FAX server accumulates the image data and offers them to the client in accordance with a retrieval process.

  • Patent number: 5545930
Abstract: The present inventions provides a generated-voltage regulator for an automobile, in which the on state of a key switch can be detected securely without being affected by a change in ambient temperature or the like. According to a selected embodiment, when a generation failure occurs in a power generation circuit 12, a power MOS FET 111 is turned on and off periodically so that a charge lamp 3 is lighted. The on/off state of the MOS FET 111 is detected by a detecting section 1121 of a voltage detecting circuit 112. Being supplied with an on signal from the detecting section 1121, a holding section 1122 turns the level of its output signal c to an "H" level only for a predetermined period. As a result, the key switch 2 is not judged to be off even in the case where the MOS FET 111 is turned on, and the on state of a switch 116 is maintained.
