  • Patent number: 6835077
Abstract: A card connector having a lock member that engages with a card. It is constructed so that when a card is forcefully removed while in a locked state, neither the card nor the lock member is damaged. When a cutout of the card is engaged by the lock member, a free end portion of the lock member is positioned by a support surface of a housing, thereby preventing outward deformation thereof. If a force is applied to forcefully pull out the card while in this state, an engagement surface of the lock member is pushed by the cutout so that an engagement protrusion elastically deforms in a twisting manner, causing the engagement of the cutout therewith to be released.

  • Patent number: 6807719
Abstract: An apparatus for inserting terminals carried on a carrier strip into cavities in a housing having a slide assembly with a cam track movable between a first and a second position, and a pivoting lever with a cam follower. The cam follower is positioned in and cooperates with the cam track. The lever is movable between an open and closed position and has first and second shearing blades. An eccentric pin extends through the lever and is attached to a rotary actuator. The eccentric pin is positioned to act as the pivot point for the lever. The rotary actuator is movable between an engaged and disengaged position. As the lever is moved to the closed position, the first shearing blades engage and shear a first portion of the carrier strip. As the rotary actuator moves to an engaged position, the second shearing blade engages and shears a second portion of the carrier strip.

  • Patent number: 6808416
Abstract: The invention relates to a coaxial cable connector having a conductive outer shell comprising a mating section and a cylindrical sleeve. The cylindrical sleeve has a cable receiving end having an annular projection with a larger external diameter than the cylindrical sleeve. A coaxial cable is stripped to expose portions of an outer conductor, a dielectric, and a central conductor. The central conductor terminates within a signal pin. A ferrule is positioned over the outer conductor. The outer conductor is folded back over the ferrule. An insulative cylinder is positioned over the dielectric. When a crimping die is applied to the cylindrical sleeve, the crimping die first contacts the annular projection. The annular projection rolls inward and toward the mating section of the conductive outer shell. The annular projection contacts the ferrule pushing the ferrule toward the mating section to create a forward bias inside the cylindrical sleeve.

  • Patent number: 6594830
Abstract: A glove liner which can be used in harsh environments to protect the user's hand from cuts and burns is disclosed. In so doing, the liners are made in two layers, with each layer performing a particular function. The inner layer is made from heat resistant material which will protect the user's hand from being burned in harsh environments. The outer layer is made from material which is cut resistant thereby preventing the user's hand from being cut or punctured and also preventing the heat resistant layer from being damaged. The liner is manufactured in such a manner as to provide the firefighter with maximum agility and mobility in his hand. The liner also protects the user in environments where the liner is not fully effective. In extremely harsh environments, it is conceivable that the user's hand may be burned. In such instances, the design of the liner allows the outer glove to be removed from the user's hand without damaging the skin of the user.

  • Patent number: 6579115
Abstract: A connector has a housing, contacts, and a cover housing which is mounted in the housing. Electrical wires are passed through the cover housing, and the tip end portions of the electrical wires are held by clips. When the cover housing holding the electrical wires is pushed into the recess of the housing, the protruding tongue parts of the contacts pierce the outer coverings of the electrical wires, and bite into the conductors of the electrical wires. Since the supporting arms of the clips are positioned so that these supporting arms correspond to the protruding tongue parts, the insulating outer coverings of the electrical wires that are electrically connected by the protruding tongue parts are elastically pressed toward the protruding tongue parts from the outside by the supporting arms of the clips.
