Abstract: An aerator apparatus, having retractable penetrating blade members, for attachment to lawnmowers is shown. The aerator apparatus includes a support disc affixed to the face of a lawnmower wheel with a pivot disc pivotally connected thereto. Sandwiched between the support disc and the pivot disc are a number of blades which are pivotally mounted to the support disc. The pivot disc includes fixed tracking pins which slideably reside in slots in the support disc in the blades. When the pivot disc is rotated clockwise about the central pivot pin, the blades are urged outward into an open position via a slot and fixed pin arrangement. The pivot disc can be locked relative to the support disc to secure the position of the blades.

Abstract: An ozone generator is provided, with a resonant power circuit to energize the corona plates. The circuit includes a pair of transistors where the primary winding of the transformer acts as the collector load on each of the transistors. Additionally, two other transistors are provided for safety purposes to short the base signal of the power transistors if the power supply to the ozone generating plates gets too high. The circuit is resonant thereby requiring low power consumption. The resonant circuit takes full advantage of the characteristics of the transformer to quickly and efficiently energize the plates for the generation of corona for the purpose of creating ozone.

Abstract: A tennis ball recovery system utilizes an elastic screen (15) suspended from a back stop at an angle and is joined to a trough that lies on the ground by means that allow the screen (15) to pivot as the trough is moved to a storage position against the back court fence (12). In the operative position the screen is at an angle with respect to the vertical. The trough has a frontal wall (18) that rises at a small angle to the ground and this wall terminates in a lip (22) that lies over the bottom wall (17) of the trough. A feed screw (31,31') fits in the bottom of the trough to feed balls retrieved to a central point where they are discharged into a bucket (42).

Abstract: A controlled product feed system for delivering discrete products at high speed to a downstream industrial operation which requires accurate speed and position of delivery. A retarding force is applied to the product stream to accumulate an abutting sequence of products with means controlling the rate of package release to correspond to the downstream operation and timing the release to obtain a predetermined phase of arrival of products at the point of delivery.

Abstract: Feeder for birds, especially hummingbirds, that has a stem rising from the center of a bowl and that has a cover for the bowl through which the stem passes, which cover is selectively locked to the stem for loosening on occasion to permit filling of the bowl.

Abstract: A sport fishing seat for fishing boats is provided with a saddle seat and a foot pedal assembly. In one version the foot pedal assembly pivots of the seat support which enables a fisherman to utilize the leg muscles while reeling in a game fish. The foot pedal assembly in that version includes a tubular post which receives the butt end of the fishing rod while at the lower end thereof the pedal portion may be engaged by the feet of the fisherman. This assembly is pivotally mounted on a bracket means extending laterally outward from underneath the seat proper and this enables the fisherman to utilize his leg muscles to greater advantage in playing and landing a game fish. In all saddle seat versions the fisherman has his legs on either side of the saddle seat and is a convenient arrangement for small boats, little space being taken up by the seat and pedestal.

The transmitter device is designed to be placed under the dash of the vehicle out of view with a remote switch installed to operate the transmitter.

Abstract: A method of processing waste solutions containing metal salts or complex involves applying ultra-sonic vibrations to a container in which the solution is placed and treating the solution or the generated misting therefrom to insure that the metallic ions remain behind and then finally exhausting the vapor through an activated charcoal filter to remove any organic contaminants and insure that the discharge is environmentally safe.

Abstract: A sailing craft has a circular linked rotating structure mounted on a vertical support or mast and within the circular structure are a plurality of parallel thin foils. The entire circular structure may be rotated in two axes to achieve directional control of the sailing craft as well as to adjust the angle of the foils to the wind.

Abstract: A hydrodynamic bearing is disclosed in which there are a plurality of bearing pads that each have a face member and a support member, the pad being separated from the support member by at least one leg-like ligament. Each leg-like ligament is arranged at an angle to the pad face to permit the pad to rock for shaft alignment and may be provided with a dog leg portion to permit movement of the pad in the direction of the load to compensate for unequal loads.

Abstract: A stringed musical instrument of the Hawaiian guitar type has a plurality of parallel strings that are led through a plurality of tensioning pins. The pins which are spring loaded in a tensioning attitude, may be partially moved in an upwardly direction to release a portion of the tension on a string. A plurality of levers are arranged to engage the ends of the pins to achieve the movement and the levers are moved by a plurality of cams that are mounted on shafts that extend transversely across the levers. The shafts are coupled to foot pedals.

Abstract: A radiant gas burner has a gas plenum and a surrounding non-combustible gas plenum. In this structure, a matrix which is gas permeable is clipped into the first gas plenum by means of a sintered metal plate that extends from the wall of the non-combustible gas plenum over the peripheral edge of the matrix. The sintered metal allows both combustible and non-combustible gas to pass there through with substantially the same velocity.

Abstract: A carrier arm for a glass blowing machine employing two or more holders with removable heads. The heads fit into the holders by the utilization of a bayonet fitting, and a retainer ring is provided that encircles the holders and maintains the heads in locked position in the holders without exerting any lateral forces on the heads.

Abstract: Gauze pads ready for packaging are formed by drawing web material from a roll and then folding the same longitudinally into a vertical attitude. Nip rolls driven at a controlled rate, draw the web from a folding station and then into an air stream which is directed horizontally at the vertical web where a tensionless loop is maintained. The web then passes through a vertical support guide and then to a folding station where reciprocating blades push the web alternately right and left, the alternations being held against side plates by flexible wire pads to prevent the fold from being pulled out by the next alternation of direction. The folded web is then pushed past a cutter by successive alternations of added material, the now cut pads being further pushed into diverging trays for packaging.

The label system is composed of a film of low or medium density polyethylene which is corona treated to accept print or decorative resin and certain curable pressure sensitive adhesives, and is affixed by the adhesive to bottles or other substrates in a manner that the label conforms to the shape of the surface of the bottle. The label deforms and recovers in essentially a permanent manner without wrinkling, cracking, tearing or being otherwise defaced due to separation or destructive fracturing of the label-substrate system.
