  • Patent number: 4647082
Abstract: A coupling fitting consisting of male and female parts wherein connection is achieved merely by axially inserting the male into the female part. Latching is produced by a plurality of resilient fingers mounted on the female part engaging with an annular shoulder formed on the male part, and release of the fingers is achieved by an axially displaceable sleeve permanently mounted on the male part displaceable to a release position engaging the fingers and removing the fingers from the shoulder permitting the male part to be removed from the female part. The release sleeve may be of a configuration to discourage tampering and uncoupling, or may include a knob to facilitate manual actuation.

  • Patent number: 4638842
Abstract: A fueling nozzle for closed circuit fuel systems comprising a body having a passage including inlet and outlet ends. A reciprocal plunger within the passage serves to open the fuel tank inlet and cooperates with a valve to close the nozzle when not in use. A reciprocal differential pressure actuated pressure regulating sleeve within the passage is positioned relative to a valve seat in accord with the nozzle fluid pressure and the nozzle passage is exposed only to regulated pressure. An indicator mounted on the body senses the position of the pressure regulator sleeve to give a visual indication of the position and condition of the regulator sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4627168
Abstract: The invention pertains to apparatus for positioning a gage and structure associated with the gage, such as a protective shield. A gage arm is mounted for linear movement upon a column, and the arm extends through structure which surrounds the arm forming a shield protecting the gaging apparatus from foreign matter. Power means position the gage arm protective shield and sensors determining the relative position between the shield and the gage arm control the position of the shield to prevent the shield from having an adverse effect upon the gage arm measurement. A lost motion linkage may interconnect the gage arm support with the shield for the positioning thereof, or the gage arm support may be positioned independently.
