Abstract: A flying bird replica comprising a body and a pair of wing members. The body is elongated having a configuration resembling that of a bird body. The body has a top surface, two sides, and a transverse slot extending between the sides. The wing members are interconnected by a flexible cord disposed in the slot below the top surface of the body. The cord is tensioned for urging the wing members together such that the wing members are held in a fixed position relative to the body. A horizontal support rod holds the body and wing members in a realistic orientation and permits tilting of the body and wings about the support rod to resemble a bird in flight.
Abstract: A cementitious composition for high density, low porosity sheet-form building materials having solid surfaces is comprised of cement, pozzolans, and a high percentage of fine and/or coarse glass aggregate.
Abstract: An improved merchandise display system comprises a display tag, one or more product flaps each for attachment to an item of merchandise, and a detachable fastener. The fastener comprises a screw and a nut, the screw having a post for threaded engagement with the nut. The head of the screw, and the nut, are wider than the aperture and the post is received in the aperture in the display tag. The product flap is detachably held between the nut and the front surface of the display tag with the post of the screw received in an opening in the flap such that the product may be removed from and reattached to the display tag by disassembling and reassembling the display tag, fastener and product flap. A second product flap may be detachably held between the screw head and the back surface of the display tag.
Abstract: A highly selective frequency filter is created from lossy components such as found in standard integrated circuit technologies, including particularly CMOS technologies, without the use of active loss cancellation circuitry. The filter configuration is based on using inductively coupled planar inductors for introducing a mutual inductance factor that advantageously alters the frequency response of the filter.
Abstract: An adjustable shelf assembly having a plurality of ribs, a rib cam associated with each rib, and a support beam having a substantially I-shaped profile. The rib cam has a transversely extending slot including a floor. Each rib has a shelf-retaining surface, a T-shaped downwardly-opening aperture, and two inwardly extending opposing rib cam flanges. The beam has two upper beam flanges and two annular channels. The upper beam flanges slide into the upper recesses of the aperture such that the rib is captured on the beam, and each rib cam flange extends into a respective one of the channels. The rib cam slides into one of the channels with one of the rib cam flanges captured in the slot. In the channel, the rib cam is rotatable around its longitudinal axis between an unlocked position and a locked position in which the slot floor bears down on the rib cam flange thereby locking the flange to the support beam.
Abstract: A skewer shield includes a shielding body adapted for placement on a cooking grill, and a skewer engaging portion extending upwardly from the shielding body. The skewer engaging portion has a top resting edge on which food-ladened skewers can be rested in such a manner that the shielding body of the skewer shield prevents the handle ends of the skewers from heating up.
Abstract: A wood chip soaking apparatus has a fluid holding base container having end walls suited for supporting at least one, and suitably two, or even more, wood chip baskets in the container for pre-soaking the wood chips to be added to a barbeque heat source. Wood chips are preferably supported in the base container on handles projecting from the wood chip baskets. The base container preferably is provided with elevated side walls for supporting the wood chip baskets in an elevated position after soaking for draining the fluid from the baskets.
