Abstract: A lighting fixture for mounting from a suspensory surface, such as a ceiling, wall, or the like, includes a counterweight for balancing or equalizing the weight in the fixture resulting from a ballast being positioned within the frame of the fixture. The weight of the frame is adjusted to equalization relative to the ballast for proper alignment during mounting of the lighting fixture.
Abstract: A preheating apparatus is disclosed which supports a hollow, cylindrical combustible heating element. A solid fuel mixture is used to generate hot gases for the heating of metal surfaces for pre-welding purposes. A grooveway is imbedded radially around the upper portion of the solid fuel mixture. An oxygen liberating pre-starter compound is housed in the grooveway for uniformity of ignition of the combustible solid fuel to permit a more uniform and consistent burn of the solid fuel during hot gas generation.
Abstract: A flourescent lighting fixture includes a secondary housing member for ballast laterally offset from and to one side of a primary housing member for flourescent bulbing. A bridge assembly extends between the housing members. A dead air enclosure may be positioned to one side of the bridge assembly and within the primary housing member for heat transfer abatement purposes. A metallic diverter panel may be provided within the primary housing member, for example, as one wall of the dead air enclosure. The housing members include a series of exteriorly protruding fin plate means for defusing heat generated by the flourescent bulbing throughout and across the exterior of the housing members and away from the interior of the ballast assembly.
Abstract: A slip assembly for anchoring a subterranean well tool, such as a packer or bridge plug, along the inner wall of a conduit, such as casing, against movements in at least one direction. As a series of radially aligned slip elements move from contracted to expanded positions, a continuous radial inwardly urging bias is applied against the slip elements to permit the slip elements to move to the expanded position in a substantially uniform plane of expansion. A subterranean well tool includes an elastomeric seal and the slip assembly.

Abstract: A subterranean well tool which is manipulatable by a control mandrel between run-in and set positions within a wellbore having casing includes an assembly which provides a selectively operable lock to prevent premature activation of the assembly from the run-in position towards the set position until a predeterminable compressive load is carried through the well tool by the control mandrel to manipulate the assembly from a first initial position to an intermediate position and thereafter to a final extended position.

Abstract: A remotely activatable attractant for deer includes a plurality of armatures moveable between two positions and including biasing means to urge the armatures in a direction to one position and further including a member for the simulation of the rattling sound of the inter-engagement of deer antlers. An exciter is selectively manipulatable for activation of the armatures by a control mechanism which is operated from a remote location.
Abstract: An inflatable packing device for use in a subterranean well provides a sophisticated cover means which results in a uniform expansion profile and exceptionally low angles of expansion propagation during inflation of the bladder to set the device, whereby well fluids between the wall of the well bore and the exterior of the cover of the device are swept away from the area of subsequent sealing of the cover. The propensity for rib kinking and rib cutting, pinching, folding, cracking and tearing of the bladder during inflation are eliminated. Correspondingly, reduced stresses and strains in cover segments combined with near ideal inflation profiles result in enhanced expansion propagation of the inflation element and improved service performance and reliability of the downhole device.
Abstract: An auxiliary tool within a subterranean well may be manipulated, such as set, by the apparatus having a stroking rod which is manipulated by application of well pressure through fluids in the well combined with booster pressure explosively generated within the apparatus.

Abstract: A molded single unit laboratory vertically integrated service and storage system may be affixed to a laboratory work surface area. The unit includes a plurality of supporting struts with each strut having a foundation securable to the laboratory work surface area or to another unit. The unit includes a shelf member having an outer edge with a lip portion which is in horizontal alignment with the outer surfaces of a plurality of foundations to abate lodging of the unit shelf member storage surface completely against a permanent wall, or the like.
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for assisting a human between sitting and erect positions relative to a chair. A support strut extends from a base plate with the support strut angularly offset away from the chair when the apparatus is positioned frontal of the chair from a vertical line 90.degree. perpendicular to the top face of the base member. A plurality of elevationally separated hand graspable recepticals are defined offset and away from the support strut. The unit is compact and easily transportable from storage to use locations.
Abstract: A non-reusable retractable safety syringe is provided which has a hollow plunger and a seal member carried thereon. The provision of the plunger and the seal relative to the barrel permits the plunger, with sufficient strength, to carry applied pressure through the device during injection of a medicinal or other fluid into a patient, and yet permit the seal disposed at one end of the plunger to have maximum sealing integrity between the plunger and a cylindrical barrel disposed around the exterior of the plunger, to abate leakage of the liquid in a chamber within the barrel, as the plunger is manipulated from an expanded position to an expended position and thereafter to a third, or collapsed position. Designs for securing the seal relative to the plunger are disclosed. The syringe may be used to insert and/or withdraw fluid relative to the patient.
Abstract: A non-reusable syringe is provided which has an interchangeable needle, and, further, which has very low residual medication in the syringe after use. Devices for achieving the interchangeable needles while maintaining low residual medication are disclosed.
