  • Patent number: 7137888
Abstract: A gaming device having wild indicator symbols associated with symbols displayed within a display device on a set of reels. The wild indicator symbols may also be associated with a card or plurality of cards within a display device. A processor determines whether the wild indicators will be associated with the symbols or cards and also determines if the wild indicators will be activated. If the wild indicators are activated, the processor transforms those symbols or cards associated with the wild indicators into wild symbols or wild cards.

  • Patent number: 7138179
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for preparing a biodegradable polymer in the form of uniform powder or spherical particles by dispersion polymerization without a grinding step. The method for preparing a biodegradable polyester includes dispersing a monomer in the presence of a catalyst in a dispersion solvent to form a solid or liquid phase for dispersion polymerization and thereby to yield a biodegradable aliphatic polyester in the form of spherical particles or powder, the monomer comprising a mixture of a first compound (e.g., lactide or glycolide) and a second compound being selected from the group consisting of polyhydric alcohols (e.g., glycerin, erythritol, penterythritol or dipentaerythritol) and carprolactone. The present invention readily prepares a biodegradable polymer having a high molecular weight in the form of uniform powder or spherical particles.

  • Patent number: 7138899
Abstract: A fuse element includes a fusible conductor which extends within a gas filled cavity in a cylindrical tube. The fuse element includes a cylindrical tube comprising, an electrical insulator between two end faces of the tube, two end caps of an electrically conductive material being applied to the two ends of the tube such that an electrical contact is produced with the fusible conductor. At least one respective sealing element is inserted in at least one of the two ends in a space between the cap base and the end face of the tube and/or into a portion of the cavity of the tube adjacent to the end face such that one or more pressure balancing passages remain between the gas filled cavity within the tube and the external surroundings of the fuse element. The one or more pressure balancing passages are of such small cross-section that changes in pressure in the cavity are balanced only very slowly.

  • Patent number: 7137628
Abstract: A method of playing a draw poker game only by a single player. The player makes a wager for each separate hand to be played. At least two hands of five cards are dealt all face up from a standard deck of playing cards. The cards in the first hand are the same cards as the cards in the second hand. The player discarding none, one or more cards from the first hand. The player discarding none, one or more cards from the second hand. Cards that have been discarded in each hand are replaced by cards from the standard deck of playing cards. The poker hand ranking of each hand is determined. The player is paid for any winning poker hands based on a pay table and the amount of the player's wager.

  • Patent number: 7136578
Abstract: A data recording and reproducing apparatus (11) which generates a plurality of divided data through dividing input data D1 using a distributor (22) if recording data, while generating redundancy-code data P1 and P2 using Read-Solomon-code data which can perform error-correcting on a plurality of divided data, and records the divided data and the redundancy-code data P1, P2 on HDDs 211 to 21K, 281 and 28Z. The data recording and reproducing apparatus (11) reproduces the divided data and the redundancy-code data from the HDDs 211 to 21K, 281 and 28Z, performs error-correcting processing on the divided data based on the redundancy-code data by an error corrector (31), and outputs the divided data which have been error-corrected after multiplying the divided data by a data multiplier (32) if reproducing data.

  • Patent number: 7131908
Abstract: The present invention provides a bonus scheme that has more than one and preferably at least three bonus games contained in one bonus scheme. Each bonus game provides excitement and enjoyment to the player via creative visual and audio displays. Each bonus game also has its own theme and may or may not be based upon schemes already known in the art of gaming devices. While the individual bonus games are not necessarily related to each other, the overall bonus scheme, preferably in the initial screen, ties the bonus games together in a master theme that provides flexibility for the individual bonus games to have their own themes. The preferred embodiment of the present invention automatically activates the bonus scheme upon a bonus triggering event. The game selects for the player one of three bonus games contained in the bonus scheme. The player plays the selected game and receives an award and the game returns the player to the base game.

  • Patent number: 7132922
Abstract: A voltage variable material (“VVM”) including an insulative binder that is formulated to intrinsically adhere to conductive and non-conductive surfaces is provided. The binder and thus the VVM is self-curable and applicable in a spreadable form that dries before use. The binder eliminates the need to place the VVM in a separate device or to provide separate printed circuit board pads on which to electrically connect the VVM. The binder and thus the VVM can be directly applied to many different types of substrates, such as a rigid (FR-4) laminate, a polyimide or a polymer. The VVM can also be directly applied to different types of substrates that are placed inside a device. In one embodiment, the VVM includes doped semiconductive particles having a core, such which can be silicon, and an inert coating, which can be an oxide. The particles are mixed in the binder with conductive particles.
