Abstract: A cart for transporting and supporting electronic equipment such as musical instrument amplifiers includes a wheeled open frame which defines an amplifier-receiving space therein. The frame rotatably supports an amplifier support chassis so that the support chassis is pivotable about a pivot axis for varying the angular orientation of a piece of equipment supported on the support chassis. The support chassis includes inner and outer members telescopingly interconnected for adjusting the depth of the support chassis. A fulcrum bar rotatably supported by the frame is affixed to the support chassis for providing the pivotal capability to the support chassis. A locking mechanism is provided for fixing the support chassis in a selected orientation, and a restraint is attached to the frame for encircling and restraining a piece of equipment supported in the cart.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to the use of certain auxin transport inhibiting semicarbazones to potentiate the herbicidal activity of other herbicides. The present invention includes potentiating herbicidal compositions of these auxin transport inhibitors and glyphosate. These potentiating herbicidal compositions have been found especially useful in combating or controlling the growth of weeds such as grassy and nutsedge weeds, especially when applied postemergence to the locus of these weeds.

Abstract: An adapter for rotatably supporting a tubular end of a yarn carrier in a take-up winding assembly of a yarn processing machine which accommodates the placement of a yarn transfer tail across an end surface of the yarn carrier between the yarn carrier and the adapter without breaking or cutting of the yarn transfer tail during winding of the yarn. The adapter includes a hub portion for extending axially into the tubular end of the yarn carrier to center the yarn carrier on the adapter and which has an outside surface with a cross-sectional diameter less than the diameter of an adjacent inside surface of the yarn carrier for defining a space therebetween to accommodate the placement of the yarn tail. An annular flange portion extends radially outwardly from the rear of the hub portion and has an inside surface for being positioned adjacent the end surface of the yarn carrier.
Abstract: An alignment cross hair apparatus for partially eclipsing a laser beam includes a laser generator that emits a laser beam. A frame includes a pair of members that cross one another at an intersection within the frame. The frame is attachable to the laser generator in such a manner that the intersection of the members is within the laser beam so that the laser beam is partially eclipsed by the pair of members.
Abstract: A plumbing assembly is disclosed that comprises an access panel which allows increased access to a temperature and humidity control system such as a heating or air-conditioning system. The access panel includes at least one valve for controlling the flow of a fluid and communicates with the first end of a first piping assembly. The second end of the first piping assembly communicates with a second piping assembly typically through a valve situated within the second piping assembly. The second piping assembly is part of a temperature and humidity control system and is generally in fluid communication with a heat transfer coil in the temperature and humidity control system. The access panel allows a technician or inspector to service or inspect a heating or air-conditioning system without the risk of injury and the cost associated with conventional methods.

Abstract: An apparatus for removing the dross ridges which are formed on the lower surface of a metal workpiece during torch cutting of the workpiece. The apparatus includes a support beam having generally flat upper and lower surfaces, and a cutting edge extending longitudinally along each of its four corners. The beam is positioned to extend across and below the workpiece path of travel, and the beam is rotatable between a neutral position wherein one of the upper and lower surfaces is just below the pass line of the workpiece, and opposite tilted positions in which one of the cutting edges engages and removes a dross ridge on the lower surface of the workpiece. Each of the cutting edges comprises a plurality of separately pivotable cutting blades, so that the cutting edge formed by the blades is able to closely conform to a non-linear surface contour of the workpiece.

Abstract: In a vacuum housing (1), an inner duct (17) is disposed. Quadrupole magnets (superconducting coils) (4) is placed around the inner duct (17) is excited by a DC power supply (10). Quadrupole magnets (4) are cooled by liquid helium contained in a helium housing and outer tubes (2, 3) and is brought into a superconducting state. Pulverized coal X is ejected together with air Y from a header (11) through piping (12) and a valve (13) to a baffle plate (14). Pulverized coal is made to fall into the inner duct (3). Paramagnetic materials such as ash are attracted by magnetic force to the tube and are then collected by a collection tube (26). Combustible diamagnetic materials are collected by a combustible collecting tube (18) extending in the central axis. Intermediate materials are collected by an intermediate collection tube (23) and are put back to the head (11) through a bypass tube (25). There are no mechanical parts in the inner duct (3). Consequently, rotation loss and eddy-current heating are prevented.
Abstract: A foam-in-place packaging system is disclosed that comprises a bag foamed of two sheets of flexible plastic film material sealed on all four sides by respective edge seals. A plurality of frangible seals are between the two sheets and define three separate interior cells in the bag. The frangible seals extend between the edge seals or between an edge seal and another frangible seal to thereby define a single cell bag when the frangible seals are broken. The cells separately contain a first and second foam precursor composition, and the bag includes means for permitting gases to vent from the bag as the foam precursors form foam while preventing foam or foam precursors from escaping from the bag.

Abstract: A method for preparing an epitaxial silicon wafer in a reactor is provided. The method comprises the steps of depositing an epitaxial layer on a surface of a silicon wafer contained in the reactor at an elevated temperature; purging the reactor with hydrogen after the epitaxial deposition; and cooling the reactor to an appropriate temperature which allows hydrogen passivation of the surface of the epitaxial layer. This prevents the formation of an oxide layer on the surface of the epitaxial layer for a sufficient amount of time to allow an accurate measurement of a carrier density profile of the epitaxial silicon wafer.
Abstract: A multiple access locking device is provided which is capable of being opened by any different number of users. The device includes first and second receptacle members and an elongate locking bar which, when removed from the receptacle members, allows the receptacle members to be moved relative to each other. The first receptacle member includes a tab with an opening therein and the elongate locking bar includes a similar tab with an opening. A plurality of coupling segments are placed on the locking bar between the tabs of the first receptacle member and locking bar. The coupling segments are identically configured and define a pair of radially extending tabs each having an opening for receiving a lock. Accordingly, a plurality of locks is placed through the respective openings and any one lock can unlock the multiple access device.
