Abstract: A method of making a three-dimensional object constituted of a large number of layers bonded together, each having the contour of a thin slice of the object, is characterized in that each layer is precisely contoured after having been bonded to the partially-built three-dimensional object but before the next succeeding layer is bonded to it. Each layer is a preformed sheet and is bonded to the partially-built object by applying an adhesive at locations within the confines of the contour of the area of contact between the layer to be bonded and the object, such that the portions of the sheet outside of the contour of the contact area are easily separated.

The mounting section extends obliquely to the plate member, and is joined to it by an elastic juncture section, such that when the mounting section is inserted between the vehicle windshield and the vehicle dashboard, the plate member is pressed towards the inner surface of the windshield to thereby releasably hold a sign or other article between it and the inner surface of the windshield.
Abstract: A sonic direction locating system for locating the direction of origin of a specified type of sonic impulse with respect to a reference body, includes a plurality of sonic sensors arranged in a predetermined array to be located at the reference body, and a direction processor for processing the outputs of the sonic sensors to determine the direction of a sonic impulse detected by the sonic sensors according to their positions in the array. The outputs of the sonic sensors are analyzed for predetermined characteristics stored in a storage device, and the direction processor is immediately disabled when one of the predetermined characteristics of the detected sonic impulse does not correspond to a stored characteristic.
Abstract: A broadband microwave antenna exhibiting high radiation efficiency over a broad frequency band in which the VSWR is less than 2.5:1 over at least 15% of the frequency band, includes a ground plane at one side of a dielectric substrate and formed with at least one slot, and a feed strip at the other side of the substrate. The feed strip is of uniform width for substantially its complete length, but includes a change in width at the feed end of the slot to produce a first impedance matching network effective to bring the slot impedance to the level of the feed line over the broad frequency band, and another change in width at the load end of the slot to produce a second impedance matching network which reduces the slot reactance to match the reactive impedance of the load to the reactive part of the slot impedance over the broad frequency band.
Abstract: A self-propelled vehicle includes a pair of foot treadles mounted in side-by-side relation, and an overrunning clutch for each foot treadle. Each foot treadle is mounted to the frame by a four-link parallelogram retaining the respective foot treadle substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle frame as the foot treadle is driven downwardly by the operator's foot and is returned upwardly by springs.
Abstract: An electromagnetic assembly includes a gimbal pivotally mounting an electromagnetic device to a housing, a magnetic body secured to the electromagnetic device producing a magnetic field coaxial with a first orthogonal axis; coils secured to the housing so as to be magnetically coupled to the magnetic body and oriented such that current through them produces a magnetic field along second and third orthogonal axes, respectively; and a current source for applying electrical current to the coils such that the magnetic fields produced thereby, interacting with the magnetic field produced by the magnetic body, produce a torque controlling the position of the electromagnetic device with respect to the second and third orthogonal axes.
Abstract: A device for dispensing a liquid, particularly a medicament, at a predetermined rate, includes a container including a displaceable partition to define a first expansible-contractible chamber on one side for receiving the liquid to be dispensed, and a second expansible-contractible chamber on the opposite side for receiving an electrolytic cell.
