Abstract: A system and method for searching and retrieving certificates, which may be used in the processing of encoded messages. In one broad aspect, a method is provided in which a certificate search request is received, a search of one or more certificate servers for certificates satisfying the request is performed, located certificates are retrieved and processed at a first computing device to determine data that uniquely identifies each located certificate, and search result data comprising the determined data is communicated to a second device (e.g. a mobile device) for use in determining whether each located certificate is already stored on the second device.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for pre-processing encrypted and/or signed messages at a host system before the message is transmitted to a wireless mobile communication device. The message is received at the host system from a message sender. There is a determination as to whether any of the message receivers has a corresponding wireless mobile communication device. For each message receiver that has a corresponding wireless mobile communication device, the message is processed so as to modify the message with respect to one or more encryption and/or authentication aspects. The processed message is transmitted to a wireless mobile communication device that corresponds to the first message receiver. The system and method may include post-processing messages sent from a wireless mobile communications device to a host system. Authentication and/or encryption message processing is performed upon the message. The processed message may then be sent through the host system to one or more receivers.
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for generating droplets has a capillary tube mounted in a moveable member. The capillary tube is accelerated towards a plate, and then subject to rapid deceleration, e.g. by way of an impact, to promote separation of a droplet which is then deposited on the plate. The droplet can be entirely separated from the capillary tip before being deposited, or, for smaller droplets, the droplet merely extends from the capillary tip and is then drawn onto the plate by a wicking action. The plurality of capillary tubes can be mounted on the common support member to effect multiplexing of drops.

Abstract: Various implementations of an interface device, along with associated methods and systems, are described in which the interface device has a housing with a transformable form factor, and a transformation assembly that can change the form factor of the housing. At least one of the form factors of the housing has a shape that corresponds to data associated with the interface device.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to cationic divalent metal catalysts useful for the polymerization of cyclic esters, methods for their preparation and uses thereof.
Abstract: According to one aspect, a system that includes an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tag reader, a plurality of cutting dies, a plurality of RFID tags connectable to the corresponding cutting dies, and a controller including a computer usable program code including program instructions for scanning instruction the RFID tag reader to scan the RFID tags, updating respective piece counts corresponding to specific shapes provided by some of the plurality of cutting dies, and displaying the respective piece counts.
Abstract: A system and method for processing attachments to messages sent to a mobile device is described herein. Embodiments described herein apply to encrypted messages comprising multiple message parts, in which different encryption keys (e.g. session keys) have been used to encrypt the different message parts. In at least one example embodiment, the encrypted session keys for every message content part comprising an attachment is received at the mobile device. In one embodiment, all of the encrypted session keys are stored together in a main message header. The mobile device may then decrypt the encrypted session key associated with a user requested attachment, and transmits the decrypted session key to one or more remote servers in an attachment request for use in decrypting the requested attachment. Data associated with the requested attachment, in decrypted form, is returned to the mobile device.

Abstract: There is provided a method for the identification of macromolecule targets of analytes such as drugs in biological samples comprising complex mixtures of macromolecules. A biological sample is contacted with one or more analyte and the mixture is resolved such that the analyte and its target are co-eluted and analyzed to identify analyte-target complexes.
Abstract: A cyclone separator assembly comprises at least one cyclone casing defining a cyclone chamber. The cyclone casing comprises a fluid inlet, a separated material outlet, and a fluid outlet. A separated material chamber is in communication with the separated material outlet. The cyclone chamber is openable by movement of a first movable portion, and the separated material chamber is openable by movement of a second movable portion separate from the first movable portion. A surface cleaning apparatus utilizing this construction is also provided. This construction is particularly useable if the separated material chamber is aligned with and below the cyclone chamber. Accordingly, the cyclone chamber and the separated material chamber may be sequentially or concurrently opened.
Abstract: A method, system and computer software product for improving rate-distortion performance while remaining faithful to JPEG/MPEG syntax, involving joint optimization of Huffman tables, quantization step sizes and quantized coefficients of a JPEG/MPEG encoder. This involves finding the optimal coefficient indices in the form of (run, size) pairs. By employing an interative process including this search for optimal coefficient indices, joint improvement of run-length coding, Huffman coding and quantization table selection may be achieved. Additionally, the compression of quantized DC coefficients may also be improved using a trellis-structure.
