  • Patent number: 7120312
Abstract: A system for recovering degraded images captured through atmospheric turbulence, or other atmospheric inhomogeneities, such as snow, rain, smoke, fog, or underwater fluctuations, is provided having an imager for capturing through such turbulence both a degraded image of a scene having at least one object, and an image of a point source associated with the object. The imager converts the degraded image into first image data signals representing the degraded image, and converts the image of the point source into second image data signals representing a point spread function. A computer of the system receives the first and second image data signals and produces third image data signals representing a recovered image of the object of the degraded image in accordance with the first and second image data signals.

  • Patent number: 7116451
Abstract: A scanning apparatus includes a housing with a scan flatbed. A loading glass is installed at the scan flatbed of the housing for loading a to-be-scanned document. A photoelectric sensing device senses the light corresponding to the to-be-scanned document to generate electric signals. The electric signals are transmitted through a flat cable to a motherboard. The flat cable is designed to include a line peak so that the surface friction between the flat cable and the loading glass can be reduced to line friction. The flat cable can also be shifted near the sidewall of the housing and is inclined to the center of the housing so that the friction traces remained on the loading glass is outside the scan flatbed. Thus, the abrasion on the loading glass can be reduced and the quality of the scanning images can be improved.

  • Patent number: 7095532
Abstract: A scanning apparatus includes a housing with a flatbed. A loading glass is installed at the scan flatbed for loading a to-be-scanned document. A photoelectric sensing device is disposed in the housing for sensing the light signals corresponding to the to-be-scanned document to generate electric signals. The electric signals are transmitted through a flat cable to a motherboard. When the photoelectric sensing device shifts and the flat cable touches the bottom of the housing, the first adsorptive slice of the flat cable and the second adsorptive slice on the bottom of the housing adsorb each other. Therefore, the rubbing between the flat cable and the loading glass can be avoided and the quality of the scanning images can be improved.

  • Patent number: 7089122
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for calculating the resolution of blood glucose which corresponding with the peak value of the rising curve. The average peak value is obtained from calculating the plurality of peak value, which determined after the pre-setting sampling time. Then, the average peak value is calculated with the resistance of the measuring circuit, reference resistance, and reference voltage to obtain the resolution of the blood glucose. Furthermore, the mapping table can be fabricated by the different height of maximum peak value and outputted voltage in different presetting sampling time, such that the resolution of blood glucose can be obtained in different outputted voltage values.

  • Patent number: 7085866
Abstract: A hierarchical bus structure is disclosed in which clusters of processors are arranged and interconnected within a hierarchy to facilitate processor communications via shared memories. The bus structure is well suited for voice processing applications in which clusters of embedded processors process voice streams in parallel, although the architecture is not so limited. Also disclosed is a memory access protocol in which the address and data portions of shared-memory access operations are performed as separate bus transactions that are separated in time, such that multiple concurrent memory access operations from different processors may be interleaved over a shared bus.

  • Patent number: 7085022
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a repeated sampling method for image scanning. In one or more embodiments, the sampling method may comprise a sample treatment procedure for the data of an image scanning device during the scanning of an image. The method may comprise sampling, sorting, eliminating one or more group-departing values, and getting a mean value, etc. The sampling procedure may involve scanning a single point of the image several times to produce several sets of sampling values. The sorting procedure may involve sorting the several sets of sampling values after being sampled according to their magnitude. The eliminating group-departing values procedure may involve obtaining the relatively larger values and relatively smaller values from the several sets of sampling values after being sorted. The getting mean value procedure may involve obtaining a mean value from the several sets of sampling values.

  • Patent number: 7085421
Abstract: An image processing method for facilitating data transmission is provided. An image compression method is performed to convert X-bits binary digital signals to a binary compressed data in a floating-point form of (1.n)*2m. Bit m represents the first bit with logic level “1” of the X-bits binary digital signals, and n represents the bits taken from the X-bits binary digital signals after the bit m. The binary compressed data in the floating-point form of (1.n)*2m is outputted with a sequence of binary number representing a set of (m, n). The latter n bits of the sequence of binary numbers are consisted of the n bits of the X-bits digital signal. Therefore, by the present image compression method, the transmission amount of image data is reduced. The transmission time of image data and the volume of a memory for storing the image data are also reduced.
