Abstract: For eliminating the dynamic drag of the member which supports the ballast by completely enveloping it with a indispensable component of the sailing vessel, namely, the hollow rotatable monolithic rigid hydrodynamic fin, and thereby reducing the dynamic drag of the canoe body when it is sailing. The elongated four-sided symmetrical diamond shaped ballast support is adapted to be fixed to the interior of the canoe body. The top of the rotatable fin enters into the interior of the canoe body so that the water turbulence is substantially less than in the prior art when the top of the rotatable fin is spaced from the bottom of the canoe body. With sliding convex/concave contact, the rotatable fin is laterally supported by the stationary diamond shaped member. A first and second cylinder are fixed to the canoe body sole and canoe body cabin top to provide strong support to the rotatable fin and ballast.
Abstract: A hopping roller skate comprises a hopping shoe, which comprises a shoe and a pair of coil springs with or without an elastic base plate, combined with a fixed or releasable roller skate body, and is used for the training of skiing or cross-country skiing. When separated the hopping shoe and roller skate may each function in their usual and ordinary manner, respectively. The arrangement of the rollers under the skate body may be selected in accordance with the desired training for the sport. Stability for a wearer on the coil springs is maintained with a pair of sticks. The extreme outer coils of the springs arranged outwardly on the roller skate are at a right angle to a respective longitudinal axis. The sticks and the coil springs accelerate the sliding speed of the skate by their stroke or thrust movement, and change the sliding direction in the same manner as an ordinary ski. Front and rear brakes control the movement and sliding speed by contact friction with the ground.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing an ionized gas by exposure to a source of alpha radiation. Propelled gas from a blower is selectively subjected to controlled humidity and temperature. The gas is then passed over a source of alpha radiation. Thereafter the radioactivity of the gas is removed by suitable shielding. The resulting ionized gas is useful for restoring or improving the edibility and taste of liquid and solid food products.
Abstract: Process for reproducing a full color picture in two printing impressions, comprising the steps of:A. Projecting a multi-color image upon a first panchromatic type film through a composite separation screen having first areas which pass long record light rays and attenuate short record light rays and second areas which pass short record light rays and attenuate long record light rays;B. Projecting such multi-color image upon an ortho type film;C. Developing such first panchromatic type film and such ortho type film;D. Forming a first printing plate by such developed first panchromatic type film;E. Projecting long record light rays through such developed ortho type film and such composite separation screen upon a second panchromatic type film;F. Removing such developed ortho type film and projecting short record light rays through such composite separation screen upon such second panchromatic type film;G. Developing such second panchromatic type film;H.
