    Abstract: An intraocular lens for implantation within an eye after cataract surgery. The intraocular lens has a haptic having an elongated gently curving seating portion having a free end and a weakened portion about which such seating portion pivots. The weakened portion is spaced from the fulcrum formed at the location at which the haptic is anchored to the lens body such that the free end of the seating portion moves toward the lens body in response to compression of the seating portion toward the lens body for facilitating seating thereof, while minimizing the risk of injury to the delicate membranes in the eye by outwardly extending distal portions of the haptics.

Injecting a liquid synthetic resin between the outer mold and the core so that the liquid resin is integrated with the layers and cured into a molded product. Removing the molded product from the outer mold after the resin has cured and removing the core form the molded product.

    Abstract: Apparatus for removing entrained liquid from a gas stream comprises a cylindrical casing (67) designed to be mounted so that its axis is substantially vertical. An inlet port (62) and a gas outlet port (63) are provided adjacent to the upper end of the casing and drain means (80) are provided at the lower end of the casing whereby separated liquid may be drained therefrom. A gas outlet tube (75) coaxial with the inner surface of the casing, extends downwardly from the upper end thereof, the outlet tube communicating at its upper end with the gas outlet port (63). A plurality of baffles (72) are arranged in an annulus around the outer surface of the outlet tube (75), the baffles being located downstream of the inlet port (62) and shaped to impart a spinning movement to the incoming gas stream. An impingement plate (77) is located downstream of the baffles and has an upper surface extending transversely across the path of the air stream leaving the baffles.

    Abstract: A liquid spray jet assembly is disclosed destined particularly for use in dust and debris laden conditions such as on the cutting heads of mineral mining machines. The assembly comprises a housing for securing to a piece of apparatus, a jet which is a push fit into the interior of the housing and a resilient seating between the jet and a part of the housing. The seating is made from a compressible material and is so compressed by the jet when positioned in the housing that the restoring force causes part of the jet to bear against a surface of the housing facing towards the seating so holding the jet within the housing. The housing and the jet have communicating passages for the passage of liquid therethrough. Use of a push fit avoids the previously used screw threaded communications and makes jet replacement an extremely simple operation.
