  • Patent number: 4504446
Abstract: The invention relates to an air-cooled ozone generator of tubular type which has a tubular outer electrode, a tubular dielectric, for instance of glass, arranged inside the outer electrode, and an inner electrode in the form of a metal coating on the inner side of the dielectric. The outer electrode and the dielectric are spaced apart and the resulting intermediate annular gap forms a discharge space in which oxygen is converted to ozone. The ozone generator is operated by means of a low-voltage, high-frequency AC source connected to the electrodes. The outer electrode has cooling flanges, and inside the inner electrode there is provided at least one heat dissipating metal body insertable in the inner electrode and expandable to abutment against the inner electrode. Preferably, the metal body also serves as an electric connection for connecting the inner electrode to the voltage source. The metal body preferably consists of a sheet formed into a cylinder with two inwardly directed flanges.

  • Patent number: 4499791
Abstract: A longitudinally mounted drive train for an automotive vehicle usable with either a manual transmission or an automatic transmission. A housing encloses a clutch in the manual drive train or a torque converter in the automatic drive train. The housing is fastened, in the manual drive train, directly onto the housing of the manual transmission or, in the automatic drive train, by means of a bearing support housing to the housing of the automatic transmission. The housing can be formed of two parts. In both drive trains a shaft having a differential bevel pinion can be provided to couple the transmission to a differential to permit front wheel drive or four wheel drive. The use of common components for the normal drive train and for the automatic drive train results in greatly reduced production costs and lower parts inventory.

  • Patent number: 4498841
Abstract: The turnover device has a frame structure with U-shaped runners and movable loading forks for gripping the load, preferably pallets. The overall center of gravity of the load and the device is in the vicinity of the center of curvature of the runners. Rollers are provided to enable the device also to be used as a transporting means. One or more casters can be moved into the area within the runners, so that the latter do not impede the 180.degree. turnover.

  • Patent number: 4498860
Abstract: A process of producing a moulding by introducing thermoplastics material into a mould space through gate means having a passageway, which process includes the formation of a sprue in the passageway. A retractable member cuts off the sprue before the material solidifies and closes the passageway at its junction with the mould space, the sprue being subsequently ejected from the passageway of the gate means before the next moulding cycle. A holder provides the gate means and the retractable member which is preferably inclined to the passageway. The gate means may also provide air ejecting means for removing the sprue and may conveniently be bolted onto an otherwise conventional injection moulding machine. The retractable member may incorporate a feed pipe for injecting a fluid into the plastics material.

  • Patent number: 4495666
Abstract: An improved inflatable cushion lift assembly for use in a bathtub by a person taking a bath. The lift assembly is positioned on the floor of a bathtub and is connected to the bathtub faucet to inflate the cushion. The cushion may be deflated while a person is sitting thereon to lower a person to the floor of the tub. Furthermore, the cushion may be inflated while the person is sitting on the cushion on the floor of the tub to raise the user upwardly to allow the user to exit the tub easily. The present improvement inhibits undesired movement of the cushion while being used by utilizing a rigid bottom panel and/or rigid top panel. Furthermore, the interior of the cushion may be provided with baffles or the like for dampening water oscillations within the cushion. The cushion, for reasons of stability, may also be tiered or formed in layers such that the cushion inflates or deflates in stages.
